Abstract: Metal complex dyes which are free of reactive groups and have at least one hydroxysulfonyl group are removed from wastewaters by means of amines of at least 6 carbon atoms in the presence or absence of water-immiscible inert organic solvents.

Abstract: Dispersants of increased bioeliminability or biodegradability for use in dye and pigment preparations, as tanning aids, in plastics production and in crop protection formulations contain from 3 to 50% by weight of one or more aromatic or long-chain aliphatic carboxylic acids, salts thereof or anhydrides thereof or a mixture thereof.

Abstract: Dyes of the formula ##STR1## where A and B are H and/or ##STR2## Y is unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, ##STR3## or unsubstituted or substituted benzothiazolyl or benzoxazolyl and R is unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, or alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, phenalkyl or alkoxycarboalkyl, are suitable for dyeing and printing cellulose swollen with water-miscible swelling agents and cellulose-containing fiber material.

Abstract: Navy mixtures which contain dyes of the formula I ##STR1## where X is chlorine or bromine,Y is hydrogen, methoxy or ethoxy andR is N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5).sub.2, N(CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2).sub.2 or N(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OCOCH.sub.3).sub.2,the mixtures being composed of 10-70% of dyes with Y.dbd.H and R=N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5).sub.2, 5-40% of dyes with Y=OCH.sub.3 or OC.sub.2 H.sub.5 and R.dbd.N(CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2).sub.2 and 5-80% of dyes with Y=OCH.sub.3 or OC.sub.2 H.sub.5 and R=N(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OCOCH.sub.3).sub.2.The novel mixtures have excellent tinctorial properties and give very fast dyeings on synthetic polyesters.

Abstract: Navy dye mixtures which contain, as essential components, compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## in the following amounts, based on the total weight of the mixture:______________________________________ X = Br R.sup.1 = C.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN R.sup.2 = CH.sub.2 CHCH.sub.2 39-49%, X = Br R.sup.1 = C.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN R.sup.2 = H 1-10%, X = Br R.sup.1 = H R.sup.2 = CH.sub.2 CHCH.sub.2 4-16%, X = Cl R.sup.1 = C.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN R.sup.2 = H 15-25%, X = Cl R.sup.1 = C.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN R.sup.2 = CH.sub.2 CHCH.sub.2 4-9%, and X = Cl ##STR2## R.sup.2 = H 4-10%. ______________________________________The novel mixtures are very useful for dyeing synthetic polyesters.

Abstract: Navy dye mixtures which contain, as essential components, compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## where X is chlorine or bromine, Y is methoxy or ethoxy, and R is ##STR2## NHC.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN, NHCH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CH.sub.2 or N(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OCOCH.sub.3).sub.2, and wherein the dye of the above formula where X is Br, Y is OCH.sub.3 or OC.sub.2 H.sub.5 and R is N(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OCOCH.sub.3).sub.2 is present in an amount of 25-45%, based on the total weight of the mixture, are very useful for dyeing synthetic polyesters.

Abstract: Dye mixtures, containing dyes of the formula I ##STR1## where X is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine,R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methoxy, ethoxy or phenoxy,R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or iso-propyl andR is ##STR2## where R.sup.3 is allyl, methallyl, crotonyl, prenyl or benzyl,R.sup.4 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl, allyl, methallyl, crotonyl, prenyl or benzyl andR.sup.4 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 -alkyl,the mixtures containing not less than 60% of dyes wherein R is ##STR3## or NHC.sub.2 H.sub.4 CN, from 0 to 40% of one or more dyes wherein R is ##STR4## and from 0 to 40% of one or more dyes wherein R is ##STR5## the two last-mentioned components accounting for not less than 5% of the mixture.The mixtures are exceptionally useful for dyeing polyesters.

Abstract: Brown to violet azo dyes of the general formula ##STR1## where X and Y are chlorine or bromine, R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, chlorine, methoxy or ethoxy, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, C.sub.1-4 alkanoylamino, benzoylamino or alkoxycarbonylamino, where alkoxy is of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and the radicals R.sup.3 are identical or different, unsubstituted or substituted aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic radicals. The dyes may be used for dyeing synthetic fibers, especially polyesters, and give very fast dyeings.

Abstract: Uniformly dyed water-swellable cellulosic fibers obtained by dyeing cellulosic fibers, in the swollen state, with a dye of the formula ##STR1## where X is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, cyano, nitro, alkylsulfonyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenylsulfonyl, methoxy or ethoxy, Y is hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, cyano or nitro, Z is a radical of the formula ##STR2## Q is oxygen or sulfur, R.sup.1 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, methoxymethyl, phenoxymethyl or phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by chlorine, bromine, nitro, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted by chlorine, bromine or methyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen, methyl or, if R.sup.2 is methyl, is C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together with the linking carbon atoms are phenylene or phenylene substituted by chlorine, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy and K is a radical of a coupling component selected from the pyrazolone, pyrazole, indole, quinolone or homophthalimide series.

Abstract: Uniformly dyed water-swellable cellulosic fibers obtained by dyeing cellulosic fibers in the swollen state with a dye of the formula ##STR1## in which D is the radical of a diazo component;R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are optionally substituted alkyl and one of them may also be cyclohexyl, phenyl, methoxyphenyl or ethoxyphenyl and X is hydrogen, chloro, methyl or acylamino, the molecule containing in the radicals R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and X at least one group: --CO--R.sup.3 --Y--Ar where R.sup.3 is C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkylene; ##STR2## Y is oxygen, sulfur or R.sup.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl; andAr is phenyl or phenyl bearing chloro, bromo, methyl, methoxy, ethoxy, C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl or cyano as a substituent.

Abstract: Disperse dyes of the formula ##STR1## in which D is the radical of a diazo component, Y is a linear or branched, unsubstituted or substituted alkylene of one to four carbon atoms;R.sup.1 is hydrogen, optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or aralkyl, phenyl, or a radical of the formula: ##STR2## and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl which may bear chloro, bromo or cyano as a substituent; andD and the rings A and B may bear one or more further substituents other than --SO.sub.3 H and --COOH;and also to their productions and their use for dyeing water-repellent fibrous materials. The dyes are eminently suitable for dyeing hydrophobic fibers, particularly polyesters, in yellow to blue-green shades of excellent fastness properties.
