Patent number: 4370830Abstract: A sliding window with a frame provided with a glazing adapted to be mounted in a wall of masonry, wood, or the like. The frame is composed of frame profiles joined at the corners and contains glass panes inserted therein. The glass panes are guided in grooves of the frame profiles and are horizontally displaceable. The frame profile members are constructed of an extrudable synthetic resinous material, with the profile members having a U-shaped cross sectional configuration made up of two projections fashioned as hollow chambers. An undercut mounting groove is arranged between the two projections and a web, connecting the projections, is formed of two juxtaposed hollow chambers. One of the juxtaposed hollow chambers facing a weather side of the window is provided with perforations for draining the mounting groove, with a second of the juxtaposed hollow chambers containing, if desired, an inserted reinforcing profile.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1980Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hans Schaefer, Wolfgang Budich

Patent number: 4286716Abstract: A building kit for vertically or horizontally slidable windows which includes a multiple-chambered blind frame profile member fashioned of a synthetic resinous material which is identical for all four sides of the windows and sash profiles of hollow synthetic resinous material which are identical for all four sides of the window as well as an optional horizontal running track. The blind frame profile is fashioned so as to be planar on a side facing the sash except for approximately a centrally arranged projecting guide tongue strip extending in the longitudinal direction of the blind frame profile. An open undercut guide groove is provided in the blind frame profile member followed on each side of the chamber. To seal the sash along the corresponding inside of the window the blind frame is connected with a U-shaped end profile of a synthetic resinous material which is at most half of the width of the blind frame.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1979Date of Patent: September 1, 1981Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AktiengesellschaftInventors: Wolfgang Budich, Hans Theissen

Patent number: 4239574Abstract: A process for welding synthetic resin structures together at their end faces, wherein the structures are clamped in position, the end faces are heated by being brought into contact with a heating plate until initial melting occurs, the softened end faces are pressed together and the weld bead is machined off, the structures are guided on at least two opposing outside surfaces up to the welding edge by guide means, with the melting zone being left vacant, and the softened end faces of the profile elements are pressed together approximately until the opposite outside guide means contact each other whereby the weld bead formation is restricted and the weld bead can be scraped off while the elements are still in the warm condition and a device for carrying out this process.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 1978Date of Patent: December 16, 1980Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AGInventors: Heinrich Aust, Wolfgang Budich, Heinz Nowak, Franz Primessing

Patent number: 4040219Abstract: A profile arrangement for window frames or doorframes which includes Z-shaped, T-shaped or L-shaped profile members serving as either a blind frame element or a sash frame element. The profile members are provided with at least one projecting centrally disposed tongue portion on one side thereof which serves as a receptor for either a sealing element or for receiving a portion of a glass molding member having a hollow chambered cross-sectional configuration. The profile members include a number of hollow chambers at least one of which may be provided with a metallic insert to increase the reinforcement of the profile members. A glass molding element is provided which includes a projecting cam portion which is adapted to interengage with the projecting tongue portion of the profile members to fix a glazing to the respective profile member.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1975Date of Patent: August 9, 1977Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AktiengesellschaftInventor: Wolfgang Budich

Patent number: 3964231Abstract: A frame element, especially for window and door construction, which is formed as a composite member with a hollow metallic profile member covered by a sheath of synthetic resinous material. The sheath includes mounting lugs and grooves for directly supporting window or door members. The hollow metal profile is provided with outer flanges formed as extensions of side walls of the member, which flanges serve to provide a rigid support base for supporting the loads applied to the frame element by way of the sheath. Interlocking groove and strip connections are provided on the sheath and the profile member at the corners formed respectively between the outer flanges and the immediately adjacent joining side wall of the profile member. These interlocking groove and strip connections assure an elastic, resilient seating of the plastic sheath against the outer confines of the profile member over the entire surface of the profile member.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1973Date of Patent: June 22, 1976Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AktiengesellschaftInventors: Wolfgang Budich, Robert Krah, Hans Theissen

Patent number: 3946524Abstract: An arrangement of profile members for sash windows, sliding doors and the like which includes interconnected blind frame profile members of similar cross-section along the length thereof connected to one another to form a blind frame. Sash frames are also formed by constant cross-section sash frame profile members interconnected to one another. To accommodate a simple attachment and detachment of a sash frame to a blind frame, a V-shaped elastic mounting profile element is provided which snap-fittingly attaches to the blind frame and guidingly accommodates the sash frame. This elastic profile mounting element is provided along three sides of the frame construction with the other side including a T-shaped aluminum guide rail for accommodating sash rollers or the like.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1974Date of Patent: March 30, 1976Assignee: Dynamit Nobel AGInventor: Wolfgang Budich
