  • Patent number: 6152609
Abstract: A plug connection for connecting a light waveguide to a plug has a plug member with a connecting light waveguide extending from one side thereof having an end being spliced to a light waveguide of a light waveguide cable and at least one strain relief element being passed over the splice and connected to the plug member. The method of forming the plug connection includes providing a sufficient length of both the connecting light waveguide extending from the plug member and the light waveguide of the cable so that a connection in a normal, known splicing apparatus can be obtained outside of the position of the plug member and then conducting the strain relief element over the splice region and connecting it to the plug member.

  • Patent number: 6026208
Abstract: A solid optical lead formed by a light waveguide having at least two coatings composed of plastic material having an outer layer which is applied directly on the inner layer and is constructed as a flame-retardant layer. The outer layer is constructed as a halogen-free material and comprises an additive that will prevent an adhesion between the outer layer and the inner layer and, thus, assures a good strippability of the outer layer from the inner layer.

  • Patent number: 4432199
Abstract: An S-Z twisting machine including a twisting disc operated reversibly at the speed n.sub.1 and a tubular accumulator driven with the lower speed n.sub.2. The elements to be twisted which are applied to the tubular accumulator via an aperture guide disc, are preferably conducted through a further aperture guide disc which is rigidly connected to the tubular accumulator near its center to insure that the loops before and behind the further guide disc are equal per unit length of the tubular accumulator.
