    Abstract: An operating panel for an air-conditioning system equipped with a heating device and a cooling unit comprises a plurality of actuating elements for setting the rotational speed of a blower, the incoming-air temperature, the air distribution, and the fresh-air/circulating-air damper. A switch arranged in the operating panel serves to switch the cooling unit on and off. A maximum cooling switch sets the air temperature to maximum cooling in the vehicle passenger compartment by coupling the maximum cooling switch to the fresh-air/circulating-air damper, on a blower step switch, which controls the blower motor, and the cooling unit switch. Thus, a single switch conveniently and automatically sets to the maximum cooling setting.

    Abstract: A method is provided for the monitoring of a moving medium (1), in particular the measurement of the filling level in a container or the distance signal of an object (1) to be detected where a sensor (2) is employed. The sensor (2) is subjected at its input to a supply voltage source (Ubs) or a supply current source. In order to suppress relatively slowly changing interfering values, the output signal (Uas) of the sensor (2) is fed back in a feedback loop to the input of the sensor (2) or, respectively, to the supply voltage of the sensor (2). The feedback loop is formed such that the input supply voltage source (Ubs) of the sensor, which is changeable for adjustment of the sensitivity, changes in dependence on the output signal (Uas) of the sensor (2) such that a constant sensitivity is present at all times. In case of an occurrence of a sufficiently fast or, respectively, sufficiently jumpy change larger than 0.01 V/sec.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring sheet resistivity of a layer manufactured under the influence of a plasma, wherein a current is generated using two voltage or current sources in a circuit that is composed of a first current branch, a sheet resistivity, and a second current branch. The current includes the parasitic current I.sub.P injected into the layer by the plasma, this having a first and second part which are symmetrically supplied into the two current branches which respectively have an identical resistance overall. The currents I.sub.A and I.sub.B thus actually flowing in the first and second current branch are respectively directly measured, or measured on the basis of the voltage drop-off at known precision resistors. A measured current I.sub.M which is independent of the plasma influence is calculated therefrom by averaging, and the sheet resistivity is calculated from I.sub.M and by measuring the voltage drop-off at the sheet resistivity.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a process for cooling hot exhaust gases. The process gases are supplied to a stationary fluidized bed, which contains cooling elements and is contained in an annular trough. Fluidizing gas is supplied to the stationary fluidized bed through the permeable bottom of the trough. The hot process gas is passed through the central opening in the fluidized bed. Cooled solids flow from the fluidized bed across the inner rim of the trough into the process gas stream and are entrained by said stream into the dust-containing space over the top surface of the fluidized bed. The solids which are separated in the dust-containing space fall back into the annular fluidized bed, and the cooled gas which contains the remaining solids is supplied to a gas cooler, which is provided with cooling surfaces. The gas which leaves the upper portion of the gas cooler is fed to a solids separator and the separated solids are recycled to the stationary fluidized bed.
