  • Patent number: 7674568
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new solvent composition useful in the process of manufacturing an optical recording medium. The invention provides a new liquid composition comprising from 0.1 to 20% by weight of a dye having a solid state absorption band maximum in the spectral region from 300 to 800 nm, from 0.5 to 99.9% by weight of a compound of formula (I), wherein R1 to R8 are H, CH3 or C2H5, with the proviso that the total number of carbon atoms in R1 to R8 is 0, 1 or 2, and optionally from 0 to 99.4% by weight of one or more further components, all based on the weight of the solution. The instant solvent composition enables to manufacture an optical recording medium of a single recording layer type capable of recording and playing a large volume of information using commercially available compact disc recorders and players and of superior performance in an amazing wide range of drive speeds.

  • Patent number: 5138248
Abstract: A circuit having a load connected to ground, a measuring resistor connected in series with the load; a current source feeding current into the load and the resistor, a different amplifier having one output connected to one end of the resistor and having its output connected to a summing point which is an input from the current source, a reference voltage source having one end connected to the summing point, is improved by an impedance converter having its input circuit connected to another end of the resistor and its output connected to another input for the differential amplifier, the latter output being further connected to an opposite end of the reference voltage source thus serving as floating ground for the reference source and the differential amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5018986
Abstract: A connector for use with insulated cables comprises an insulating holder for the insertion thereinto of at least one elongate contact pin having a rear portion provided with at least one bendable, wing-like clamping part, projecting at right angles from the rear portion when in a non-clamping position. The clamping part can be bent over against the cable to penetrate its insulation thereby to make electrical contact with a conductor of the cable. For more rapid connection, and to ensure better electrical contact between cable and conductor and contact pin, the clamping part is formed as an apertured clamping lug, the rear portion of the contact pin having at least one projection which is at least partially surrounded by the lug in the clamped position thereof. The lug has at least one cutting edge on its inner perimeter and/or the projection has at least one such edge on its upper perimeter.

  • Patent number: 4795370
Abstract: An electrical plug connector for co-axial leads is disclosed comprising an inner contact with spring tongues to retain a core wire therebetween and an outer contact for connection to the sheath conductor. The latter may be brought into contact with claws situated at end of the outer contact from which the lead extends, by bending the claws radially inwards, this being accomplished by tightening a screw element situated on an outer sleeve of insulating material, while two coaxial insulating members within the outer contact are displaced axially with respect to each other so that thrust arms situated on one insulating member and co-operating with an inwardly tapering cam surface may be thrust against the spring tongues to allow these to grip fast the inner lead wire.

  • Patent number: 4509816
Abstract: The connector according to the invention comprises a dielectric carrying the sleeve-like outer connector conductor as well as the central inner connector conductor. The connection of the connector conductors to the cable conductors is performed by crimping. In order that this connector may be simplified structurally and assembled more rapidly, the connector dielectric has a portion which projects at least partially into the axial area of the cable connection portion of the outer connector conductor, in such manner that the radial force of the portion exerted in inward direction as a result of the crimping of the cable connection portion complementarily acts over the axial area at least on the cable-side radially yielding reception portion of the inner connector conductor.

  • Patent number: 3977752
Abstract: This invention relates to electrical connectors for coaxial cables of the kind in which the connector comprises an inner contact member having resilient fingers to hold the inner cable conductor, which latter is held in an insulating body coaxially to an outside contact conductor, pressure fingers being provided to project into a tapering pressure means and said fingers being capable of being pressed radially inwards against the resilient fingers aforementioned by means of a pressure member. This pressure member is displaceable under the axial force exerted by a member such as a screw cap used for securing the connector in relation to the cable. The pressure fingers have protuberances arranged for bearing against the free resilient fingers when the connector is secured. The protuberances may be domed or ridge-shaped.
