  • Patent number: 4715956
Abstract: A first container for receiving fine-grained material to be dewatered with a concentric outer second container for receiving material from the first container and separating liquid, means for driving the containers in unison, circumferentially separated radial first and second plates connected to the first and second containers respectively, rubber blocks between the plates, and means for separately imparting vibration motion to the first and second containers with the vibrations being accommodated by the rubber blocks.

  • Patent number: 4464163
Abstract: A centrifuge rotor includes a dynamically balanced casing assembly having upper and lower parts that define a hollow bowl with a continuous peripheral gap between such casing parts. The casing parts are held in position by a series of bolt assemblies which maintain the axial spacing. Each bolt assembly has a pair of portions respectively, rigidly secured to the casing parts, such bolt assembly portions having concentric interfitting surfaces, with a screw extending through one of said bolt assembly portions into the other. The concentric interfitting surfaces preferably include a step whereby precise location of the casing parts with respect to each other is achieved, even upon reassembly, thereby facilitating disassembly and reassembly as well as assuring maintenance of dynamic balance.

  • Patent number: 4288029
Abstract: A rotary separator has a separation vessel comprised of opposed conical sections and has an annular gap between the sections for discharge of solid material. A sleeve surrounds the separation vessel and is attached to the lower conical section thereof by a flexible member allowing axial sleeve movement. The sleeve carries a ring for comovement therewith displaceable to open and close the gap. When the pressure of material in the vessel is sufficient to overcome the flexibility characteristics of the material supporting the sleeve, discharge occurs. The flexible member may be pre-stressed to control the pressure required for discharge to occur, or a chamber communicating with the sleeve and flexible member may be pressurized to selectively displace the sleeve and ring and thereby control discharge.

  • Patent number: 4141837
Abstract: A centrifuge for the dewatering of a fine grained material having a downwardly flaring frusto conically shaped porous sieve cage rotatable about its axis and axially oscillatible with a preacceleration frusto conically shaped cone within the sieve cage with its larger end upwardly and a central material delivery means for supplying material to the cone and an annular spoked mounting means extending between the base of the cone and sieve cage with a drive connecting to the mounting means and an elastic connection between the rotatable drive and sieve cage and an elastic connection between the oscillatible drive and sieve cage and an annular downwardly extending solid collection housing mounted at the lower end of the sieve cage and an annular housing surrounding the sieve cage for the collection of water with the oscillatible drive and rotatable drive mounted at the base of the unit coaxial with each other.

  • Patent number: 4082675
Abstract: A vibrating centrifuge provided with a rotary support body has mounted thereon a basket receiving the granular material to be dehydrated and is operatively connected with a vibrating mechanism and also with a rotary drive, as well as thrust spring elements which yieldably connect the rotary drive with the support body. These thrust spring elements are arranged in an annular space between the outer circumference of said support body and the inner circumference of a drive sleeve forming a part of the rotary drive, and variable adjusting member engaging said thrust spring elements are employed for carrying the radial height of said thrust spring elements.
