  • Patent number: 5669357
Abstract: In a cylinder-selective injection system for an internal combustion engine, there are cylinder-selective injection suppressions. Subsequent to the suppressions, restoring added quantities specific to an individual cylinder are generated, whose initial value is dependent upon the number of suppressed injections for the cylinder in question, and whose notching-down to zero is dependent upon the number of injections of the cylinder that have taken place after completion of the suppression.

  • Patent number: 4941449
Abstract: In a process for fuel injection in a multiple-cylinder internal combustion engine, opening signals for the respective injection valves of the individual cylinders are produced as a function of reference signals which are synchronous with the crankshaft. All injection valves are first controlled jointly after the ignition switch is switched on and the sequential opening signals for the sequential fuel injection are produced after the synchronization has been recognized. In order that the sequential fuel injection be switched on rapidly after the start of the internal combustion engine or after a disruption of the synchronization, wherein the fuel quantity injected into opened inlet valves is to be minimized, the opening signals are fed to the injection valves in a simultaneous manner, at least in a phase (a) until the synchronization has been recognized.

  • Patent number: 4893602
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for fuel metering during acceleration operations at a plurality of cylinders of an internal-combustion engine, with sequential injection, in which the fuel quantity to be injected is determined corresponding to the operating state and the acceleration state is determined, additional fuel injections being performed after determination of the acceleration state. Such a process is to be further developed to the extent that a faster metering of the increased fuel quantity into the internal-combustion engine can be performed during the acceleration operation. To achieve this object, it is proposed that the determined fuel quantity is injected into at least one, preferably into all those cylinders whose injected fuel quantity has not yet been taken in and whose inlet valve has not yet been closed or whose intake stroke has not yet been concluded.

  • Patent number: 4845667
Abstract: A method and apparatus for data exchange between a master microprocessor and a slave microprocessor, in which the connection is a parallel bus and the data exchange requires a minimum of time. For this purpose, the data are transmitted in a predetermined sequence and in which the transmission-start identifier is a signal train generated by the master processor which is specifically associated with data transmission. Preferably, a master processor and a slave processor are interconnected by the parallel data bus, with buffer memories, such as latches, interposed. A toggle flip-flop is connected to the interrupt input of the slave processor in such a way that merely placing a specific instruction (i.e. command+data) on the bus simultaneously notifies the slave processor to prepare for the exchange of data, thereby saving time.
