  • Patent number: 11796456
Abstract: A measuring device for analyzing a composition of a fuel gas including at least a first gas and a second gas different from the first gas, the first gas and the second gas absorbing an infrared light in at least one common first wavelength range in the electromagnetic spectrum, the measuring device including: an intermittent first infrared emitter; a first sample chamber for receiving the fuel gas; a first detector including at least the first gas and operating according to a photoacoustic effect; and a first filter chamber containing the second gas. The first sample chamber, the first detector, and the first filter chamber are arranged relative to each other such that an infrared light emitted from the first infrared emitter passes through the first sample chamber and the first filter chamber and impinges on the first detector.

  • Patent number: 7719883
Abstract: A magnetoresistive element, in particular a memory element or a logic element and a method for writing information to such an element are disclosed. The element comprises a first contact of ferromagnetic material and a corresponding layer of magnetoelectric or ferromagnetic material, whereby the first contact is magnetically polarized, depending on an antiferromagnetic boundary surface polarization of the first layer. Said magnetic polarization forms binary information.

  • Patent number: 5431448
Abstract: A three-point safety belt system is provided which the upper deflection and fastening point for the belt strap cannot be arranged on the B-column of a vehicle body. So as not to interfere with the appearance of the vehicle body or with its lines but, yet obtain an optimal course of the belt strap in the event of a crash, the safety belt system has a displaceable belt point. This belt point is normally kept downward and will then be situated in the area of the window ledge or lower and can thus not be seen from the outside. In the event of a crash, the belt point displaces upward and thereby provides a belt strap course which ensures an optimal protection of the vehicle occupants.

  • Patent number: 4786100
Abstract: A vehicle door whose inside is deformable under energy dissipation. The inside is thereby subdivided into different sections matched in its rigidity to the individual body regions of the passenger. Furthermore, the rigidity can increase toward the rear door frame so that taller vehicle passengers find altogether a more rigid door inside when the seat is displaced toward the rear. The vehicle door is to reduce the injury risks in case of a lateral impact.

  • Patent number: 4690899
Abstract: In a process for carrying out an analytical determination by mixing and incubating a sample liquid with at least one dry reagent which is soluble therein to form a reaction mixture liquid and measuring a parameter in the reaction mixture liquid, the sample liquid is first transported along a transport path to the soluble dry reagent and the resulting reaction mixture liquid then further transported along the transport path. The further transporting of the reaction mixture liquid along the transport path is under the influence of a force-change cycle in which centrifugal force and a further force alternately predominate to determine the direction of the further transporting along the transport path. At least one further liquid is transported on another path, part of which is separate from and part of which is common with the transport path, by the force-change cycle in such a manner that at least two of the liquids pass through the common part of the transport path chronologically separated.

  • Patent number: 4557600
Abstract: A process and a device for the centrifugal control and mixing of a limited volumes of fluid, especially in the rotor of a centrifugal analyzer, has at least one baffle chamber, in a flow canal for the fluid the volume of which is greater than the volume of fluid. It is so shaped that, when the device is rotated at a sufficiently high first speed of rotation, the fluid remains in it. An outlet canal is connected to the baffle chamber the fluid. At least a part thereof lies closer to the axis of rotation than the fluid surface during the rotation with the first speed of rotation. The walls of the outlet canal consist of a material which is wettable by the fluid and, in combination therewith, have cross-section which forces the fluid out of the baffle chamber; by boundary surface force when the device is rotated at a second, slower speed.

  • Patent number: 4515889
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for carrying out analytical determinations by mixing and incubating a sample solution with at least one reagent and optically measuring a parameter in the incubated reaction mixture. The mixing, incubating and measuring are carried out during the action of a centrifugal force which forces the solution through a plurality of interconnected small hollow spaces having flow resistance so adapted with regard to one another as to mix the reaction components. Incubation may also take place before the reaction solution passes from the plurality of interconnected small hollow spaces into a measuring chamber in which the measurement is carried out.
