Abstract: Apparatus for minimum invasive fasciectomy, characterized by a tubular fixation element, including two detachably interconnected semitubular shells with in each case a wedge-shaped recess formed at a proximal end and at a distal end, a deflecting bar, whose length essentially corresponds to the portion between the recesses, and lifting wedges with in each case receptacles located at the lower portion thereof for the detachable connection of the lifting wedges to the deflecting bar, wherein the titling wedges can be introduced into the wedge-shaped recesses, accompanied by a sliding apart of the detachably interconnected semitubular shells.

Abstract: In a tibial portion of a knee joint endoprosthesis with a securing shank (10) to be inserted into the medullar cavity of the tibia, which, on one end, is provided or not with a tibia condyle terminal plate for the attachment of the articular parts of the prosthesis, the securing shank (10), in order to achieve a firm fit of the implant after the implantation, comprises a cylindrical sleeve (11) that is insertable into a cylindrical slotted drilled hole (201) of the tibia with an interior (12) accommodating the spongiosa nucleus (205) of the slotted drilled hole (201), and is fabricated from a metallic material or some other suitable, body-compatible material, while the securing shank (60) is disposed at a right angle to the terminal plate (20) extending parallelly to the horizontal or slightly inclined ostectomy area (206) (FIG. 1).

Abstract: The femoral bone-hip joint endoprosthesis is characterized by the cavity construction of the prosthesis shank (10), by the ovaloid-conical aperture of the prosthesis shank and by the ovaloid-conical aperture of the upper prosthesis shank end for the accommodation of a cone plug connection (20).

Abstract: Process for preparing aryl hydroxyethyl sulfones of the general formula (1)Ar--SO.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --OH (1)in which Ar denotes a phenyl or naphthyl radical, by reacting an aromatic of the formula (2)Ar--H (2)in which Ar has the abovementioned meanings, with carbyl sulfate at temperatures of 30.degree. to 100.degree. C., in the presence or absence of an organic solvent which is inert toward the reactants, then adding water or methanol to decompose the boron trichloride, and isolating the resulting aryl hydroxyethyl sulfone.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of pure 2-ethylamino-4-nitro-1-alkoxybenzenes of the formula (1) ##STR1## in which R denotes an alkyl(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) or alkoxy(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alkyl(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) group, which comprises N-monoalkylation of 2-amino-4-nitro-1-alkoxybenzenes of the formula (2) ##STR2## in which R has the abovementioned meaning, using a slight excess of diethyl sulfate in non-polar, organic solvents in the absence of water at temperatures of about 40.degree. to about 120.degree. C.
