  • Patent number: 8336354
Abstract: A straightening machine (1) having upper straightening rollers (5.1, 5.2, . . . ) and lower straightening rollers (6.1, 6.2, . . . ) is provided, with the straightening rollers being drivable via coupling elements (5.1?, 5.2?, . . . ; 6.1?, 6.2? . . . ). The upper straightening rollers and the lower straightening rollers are arranged in upper and lower interchangeable cartridges, respectively, together with the pertaining coupling elements, with the cartridges being removable from the straightening machine. The straightening machine provides that at least one of the upper and lower interchangeable cartridges is configured to be separable in such a manner that the relevant straightening rollers (6.1, 6.2, . . . ) can be exchanged optionally together with at least the pertaining coupling elements (5.1?, 5.2?, . . . ; 6.1?, 6.2? . . . ) by removing the entire upper and/or lower interchangeable cartridge or without the pertaining coupling elements by removing only part of the relevant interchangeable cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20080307912
Abstract: A transmission assembly, particularly for a straightening machine, has a least one drive and a number of power take-offs, which stand in an effect connection with the drive for a transfer of torque. At least one power take-off is coupled with a torque monitoring device independent of other power take-offs to monitor a power take-off moment that is in effect at the power take-off in question. The torque monitoring device is configured as a function of a result of the power take-off monitoring. The transmission assembly may be connected with a torque transfer mechanism, particularly articulated shafts, of a straightening machine for straightening materials, particularly in plate or strip form, having an arrangement of straightening rollers between which the material to be straightened is conveyed and which are driven by way of the torque transfer mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5699672
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel refrigeration method and apparatus in which air is used as coolant and primary refrigerant. The air is subjected to substantially isothermal compression in a water-injected screw-type compressor, cooling in first and second scrubber columns operated by separate refrigerant circuits, and subsequent adiabatic substantially isentropic expansion in a high-speed turbine. Heat exchangers may be provided for the removal of residual coldness from the expanded air and for preheating the air fed to the compressor.

  • Patent number: 5507147
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of separating from a gaseous medium vaporous substances having a low boiling point contained in high proportions in the medium, by subjecting said medium to a scrubber where said vaporous substances are precipitated as cold liquid condensates the coldness component of which is transferred to a circulating refrigerant. Provisions are made for different levels of coldness by utilizing cold-vapor and cold-air refrigeration units in which condensates and clean air produced by the system are used as refrigerants. Heat generated by a compressor in the cold-air refrigeration unit may additionally be used in a degassing unit used to remove non-condensible components from the condensate and/or refrigerant.
