Abstract: An apparatus and method analyzes a metabolic profile in a biological sample. The apparatus includes an input unit for inputting the drugs and/or metabolites to be screened; a controlling unit for determining a parameter set for metabolites preparation and for mass spectrometry analysis depending on the input of the kind of metabolites to be screened; a treatment unit for preparing the metabolites to be screened depending on the determined parameter set; a mass spectrometer for performing mass spectrometry analysis on prepared metabolites depending on the parameter set; a database for storing results of analyzing and parameter sets for metabolite preparation and for mass spectrometry analyses; and an evaluation unit for evaluating the results of mass spectrometry by use of reference results stored in the database to output an analysis of the metabolites profile.

Abstract: A device, in particular a sample preparation device for the quantitative analysis of a drug and/or metabolite profile in a biological sample, which includes an insert for such a device being impregnated with at least one internal standard, to the internal standard itself, and to a kit comprising the device. Further, the invention also relates to an apparatus containing the device, and to a method for the quantitative analysis of a drug and/or metabolite profile in a biological sample employing the device.

Abstract: A track system is made by setting a longitudinally extending row of concrete high-pressure injection piles in grown soil and then positioning atop the piles a succession of sleeper frames each including a pair of longitudinally extending rigid concrete beams held together transversely by a rigid steel structure. A longitudinally extending body of concrete is then cast between the beams around the steel frame. Finally longitudinally extending rails are fastened atop the beams.

To increase the classification for operational reliability, it is proposed that at least one rupture disk be placed downstream of the pressure relief valve in the pressure relief direction.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fixed track for rail travel, comprising a frame-type construction (3, 4, 10). Unlike previous fixed rail tracks made by various producers and suppliers, the invention provides a simple and low cost construction offering variable modification of track and operational profile provided by a gravel construction without the previously indicated disadvantages.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of extracting water from the ambient air by condensation of air moisture, characterized in that a heat-insulating partition is cooled on one side and heated on the other side by external supply of energy, creating a natural convective air draft on the heated side of the partition, the convective air draft being channelled substantially like a chimney draft and used to recover part of the energy while water is extracted on the cooled side by condensation of air moisture. The invention further relates to an apparatus for carrying out said method. The object underlying the invention is to ensure an appropriate afflux of air and a high degree of efficiency by optimum exploitation of energy.
