  • Patent number: 9709487
Abstract: A method for measuring the concentration of a gas component in a measuring gas. An absorption line of the gas component is varied as a function of the wavelength of the light of a wavelength-tunable light source within a periodically sequential scanning interval. The absorption line of the gas component is modulated with a frequency (f0). Modulated light is guided through the measuring gas onto a detector. A measurement signal generated by the detector is demodulated upon determining a harmonic (nf0) of the frequency (f0). A measurement result is produced by fitting a setpoint curve to the profile of the demodulated measurement signal. Both demodulated measurement signal and setpoint cure are filtered with the aid of the same filter function. The filter function is operative to suppress noise signal components of the demodulated measurement signal that disturb both signal components of the demodulated measurement signal and the setpoint curve.

  • Patent number: 9546989
Abstract: A method for measuring the concentration of a gas component in a measurement gas using a gas analyzer comprises varying the wavelength of the light of a wavelength-tunable light source within periodically consecutive scan intervals for wavelength-dependent scanning of a gas component absorption line of interest. The method also comprises modulating the wavelength of the light of the wavelength-tunable light source with a frequency, guiding the modulated light through the measurement gas onto a detector and demodulating a measurement signal generated by the detector in the event of a harmonic of the frequency. The method further comprises producing a measurement result by fitting a desired curve to the profile of the demodulated measurement signal. A function orthogonal to the desired curve is provided, and an orthogonal component of the measurement result is produced by fitting the orthogonal function to the profile of the demodulated measurement signal.

  • Publication number: 20150014541
Abstract: A method for measuring the concentration of a gas component in a measuring gas, wherein a semiconductor laser is periodically actuated by a current ramp to scan a selected absorption line in a wavelength-dependent manner and to determine the concentration of the gas component based on the reduction in the light intensity as a result of the absorption of the light at the location of the absorption line.

  • Publication number: 20120227743
Abstract: The passenger oxygen mask is provided for emergency situations on board an aircraft. The mask body is designed collapsible at least in sections. An axial overall height of the mask body is reduced by way of the one or more mask sections. This simplifies the accommodation of the oxygen mask or even permits a smaller constructional size of the preparation device.

  • Patent number: 7789084
Abstract: A method for equipping a personal service unit with passenger oxygen masks includes arranging one or more passenger oxygen masks in an intermediate container ready for use, and then attaching the intermediate container together with the masks located therein within the personal service unit. In this manner, the comparatively lengthy packaging procedure which is difficult to carry out in overhead work, may be effected in a simplified and reproducible manner outside the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20050132783
Abstract: A rheometer, in particular, a rotational or extensional rheometer, comprises a lower measuring part and an upper measuring part, between which a sample space is formed for receiving a material sample, and which can be moved relative to each other. The sample space is surrounded at a distance by a cover which forms an inner closed measuring chamber, wherein a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature within the measuring chamber and a temperature control device for the measuring chamber are provided. A further sensor device serves to detect the air moisture and/or the pressure within the measuring chamber, wherein a gas and/or liquid can be supplied to the measuring chamber and can be discharged therefrom via a discharge line.

  • Patent number: 5598997
Abstract: A rail section on a container of an oxygen supply unit for hanging the container into a mount in an aircraft. Hook parts on the end tips of the rail section are provided, which end tips project from the container and engage the mount on a first contact zone (10). A subsequent alignment of individual containers to a uniform alignment becomes unnecessary, and displacement of the containers in relation to the mount (5), which may be due to the operation of the aircraft, is not possible. To achieve this object, the hook part has a projection, which supports the rail section in a preselected angular position in relation to the mount, and which is supported by a second contact zone in the area of the inner surface of the mount.

  • Patent number: 5311643
Abstract: A hinge for a foldable rail section for mounting a container of an oxygen supply unit in an aircraft, with a first hinge part on the rail section and a second hinge part on the edge of the container, and with a container door, which extends in parallel to the longitudinal side of the rail section and is pivotable around a joint on the rear edge of the container. The connection of the hinge to the container is simplified, and a stop is provided for the container door.

  • Patent number: 5119808
Abstract: A respirator arrangement including a protective covering, particularly an antismoke hood, and a respiratory connection which is connected to a chemical that absorbs water vapor and CO.sub.2 and releases oxygen, and whose covering or hood material consists of a coated composite material. The coated composite material includes a support fabric of tear-resistant, heat-resistant, and water vapor repellent fibers formed such that the material for the protective covering and the components carrying the respiratory gas stores or releases the smallest possible amount of water vapor, and is resistant to breakage and tearing while having elasticity and suppleness, and can be processed easily. The composite material has a support fabric 1 of glass fibers 2 that has a silane interlayer 5 as adhesion promoter, to which is applied a PVC coating 3 on the side facing the surroundings, and to which is applied a silicone coating 4 on the surface away from the PVC coating 3.

  • Patent number: 5040530
Abstract: A breathing mask with a half mask and a nape band is to be improved such that secure contact of the mask in the entire nose and mouth region of the mask user is ensured by the nape band. The mask is thus effectively prevented from slipping despite the fact that the band is located in the nape region only. An additional application of a hood is possible without providing additional holding members. To accomplish this task, the band can be applied in the form of a rubber-elastic cuff (5) which has a neck opening (6) and a head opening (7). The mask and cuff are preferably made in one piece of silicone rubber, and the hood can additionally be bonded to the cuff.
