  • Patent number: 6616946
Abstract: Polymeric hollow particles for delivery of an agent are provided that change permeability in response to a change in an external stimulus such as pH, temperature, light, ionic strength, electric field, magnetic field and/or solvent composition. The particles can have a shell formed of an amphiphilic triblock ABA or BAB copolymer, where A is a hydrophilic block and B is a hydrophobic block. Low permeability particles with a reversibly permeable shell expand and increase permeability in response to a stimulus so that an active agent such as a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent can be introduced. Removing the stimulus allows the particles to return to a low permeability state to form particles loaded with the active agent. Surfaces of the particles can be modified with specific ligands that allow the particles to be directed to a specific target via molecular recognition.

  • Publication number: 20030077521
Abstract: In the method according to the invention, scatter lines (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) with a predetermined width are produced, which run at a predetermined distance from selected edges of mask structure elements (1). These scatter lines (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) produced are inspected with regard to compliance with a predetermined distance from adjoining edges of mask structure elements (1) and with regard to compliance with a predetermined distance from one another. Scatter lines (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) which fall below the predetermined distance are shortened and/or eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6427026
Abstract: A decoder has a first memory for storing a coded first image. The image is stored in the first memory until it has been decoded at least twice. The results of the decoding operations can be supplied to a playback device. The invention makes it possible to dispense with an output frame buffer for the decoded first image, and thus only little memory is required in the decoder.

  • Publication number: 20020037986
Abstract: Membranes made from amphiphilic copolymers are disclosed. The amphiphilic copolymers can be ABA copolymers, where one of A and B is hydrophilic and the other is hydrophobic. The copolymers may be crosslinked to form more stable structures. Crosslinking can be accomplished using a variety of methods, including end to end polymerization of copolymers having terminal unsaturated groups. Molecules such as membrane proteins can be incorporated into the membrane to allow the transport there through of selected components.

  • Patent number: 5987869
Abstract: A mechanically operating debris removal device for an open-end spinning machine 1 comprises a guide conduit arranged below the spinning units and enclosing a debris conveyor belt. The guide conduit comprises a base and a cover, which may be pivotable or detachable relative to the base. During spinning operation, the base and the cover form an essentially closed belt guide conduit. Debris passage openings are formed in the cover with associated air and debris guide deflectors to communicate with debris exit openings in the sliver opening devices. The upper run of debris conveyor belt creates a slight suction flow in guide conduit and at the debris passage openings to prevent fine debris from settling in the area of the debris passage openings and in the area of debris exit openings of the sliver opening devices.

  • Patent number: 5671399
Abstract: In a method for hierarchic logic verification of VLSI circuits a hierarchic layout circuit (1234') is acquired from the physical layout of the respective VLSI circuit using an extraction program is compared to a hierarchic logic plan circuit (1234) defined by an appertaining logic plan. They are being compared such that both the layout circuit as well as the logic plan circuit are transformed independently of one another into equivalent circuits (1234") having a respectively minimum plurality of terminals for all sub-circuits and non-isomorphic hierarchies are brought into coincidence during the circuit comparison by temporary, partial expanding. The advantage thereby achieved is that no explicit user rules with respect to the method execution are required, and that substantially less memory space and a significantly shorter processing time are required for the implementation of the method than given non-hierarchic methods.

  • Patent number: 5488822
Abstract: An open-end spinning apparatus includes a feed device for supplying sliver; a device downstream of the feed device for separating the sliver into individual fibers; a fiber guide channel downstream of the fiber separating device for pneumatically transferring the individual fibers; a spinning rotor downstream of the fiber guide channel for rotating in a given direction and receiving the individual fibers, the spinning rotor having a fiber slide wall with a given radius of curvature; and a lid closing the spinning rotor and having a centrally disposed yarn draw-off tube and a lid extension. The fiber guide channel has an end region extending in the lid extension and being curved in the given direction. The end region has an orifice region disposed in the lid extension. The orifice region is a curved channel segment being closed on all sides and terminating in a small orifice, and the orifice region has a radius of curvature being matched to the given radius of curvature.

  • Patent number: 5180948
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a plasma generator which can generate a localized plasma. To localize the plasma, a low pressure plasma generator, containing a vacuum chamber and at least one microwave radiation source, which does not by itself produce a field strength sufficient to form plasma in the vacuum chamber, is equipped with at least one aerial for the radiation of microwaves. This at least one aerial acts as a secondary radiator in the vacuum chamber and can generate a localized plasma at its free tips.

  • Patent number: 4996504
Abstract: In a monolithically integratable microwave attenuation element, the attenuation is switchable between various, discrete values and the signal experiences only a small phase shift when switched between the individual attenuation values. The drain-source paths of field effect transistors (Q1, Q2, Q3) in the attenuation element are arranged in a PI configuration. Resistors (R11, R22, R33) are connected parallel to the drain-source paths of the field effect transistors (Q1, Q2, Q3) that are arranged in PI configuration.

  • Patent number: 4564241
Abstract: A device for extending flexible power supply lines for mining machines which are guided on a conveyor structure and moved back and forth along a longwall by means of a traction element which includes a coal strand and a return strand extending with an enclosed space comprising a housing secured to the conveyor and enclosing a load strand. A return and a cable channel is alongside the load strand channel, with the flexible supply lines being stored at the ends of the longwall towed along by a mining machine through the cable channel. The housing is secured to the conveyor structure and open at one side, and an idle roller is mounted in the housing in the cable channel. The supply lines are supported on the idle rollers. The mining machine is moved by a traction element and the supply lines bear against the traction element at the open side of the cable channel.

  • Patent number: 4555142
Abstract: A hydraulic-mechanically operating mine working machine includes a multi-part sword engaging a mine longwall conveyor from below. The machine is pulled by a traction rig disposed on the stowing side of the longwall conveyor, which is supplied from the drift with the liquid media needed for cutting and for control purposes via drag lines accommodated in a special duct on the stowing side. The connection between the drag lines arriving on the stowing side and the working machine at the adit end is established by way of a hose hookup block connected with the tractor hookup block, the tractor hookup block and the sword of the working machine engaging the longwall conveyor from below.
