    Abstract: The invention relates to a plug (10) for fastening to hollow or panel-type building materials and to solid building materials. The invention proposes providing the plug (10) with expansion limbs (18) that extend longitudinally and that are connected to one another by thin skins (22) having a corrugation in the peripheral direction. That has the advantage of good screw guidance and a torsionally rigid construction of the plug (10); especially when fastening to hollow and panel-type building materials, undesirable backwards rotation of the plug tip (16) is avoided when screwing in an expansion screw by hand. Angled slits (32) in the plug tip (16) bring about good adaptation to screws having different diameters and different pitches of thread.

    Abstract: An analog angle encoder includes a non-magnetic stator which is cup-shaped, having a central post carrying at least one magnetosensitive device, and further including a rotor in the form of a ring captured by the stator, the rotor carrying at least one permanent magnet, wherein the rotor is rotatable relative to the stator. As the rotor rotates relative to the stator, the angle of the incident magnetic field changes relative to the magnetosensitive device, thereby causing the output from the device to vary sinusoidally with angular position. It is preferred to use magnetic configurations other than simple six sided magnets in order to achieve a more uniform magnetic field at the magnetosensitive device, as for example by utilizing cylindrical magnets, arcuate (concave faced) magnets, flat ferromagnetic layer pole pieces, arcuate (concave faced) ferromagnetic layer pole pieces, and ferromagnetic return paths.

    Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the load dump voltage of a permanent magnet (PM) alternator having a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) bridge. The apparatus includes a voltage divider, a peak detector, and a comparator. The voltage divider attenuates the bridge output voltage, which is further fed through a peak detector to hold the peak value for improved stability. The comparator changes states when the bridge output exceeds a predetermined voltage level (e.g., 55 volts) that is less than the load dump threshold limit (e.g., 60 volts), but greater than the normal operating voltage (e.g., 42 volts). The comparator output change-in-state deactivates a gate pulse generator, thereby suppressing further operation of the SCR bridge. Voltage transients that may otherwise occur at the bridge output for the remainder portion of a half cycle from the PM alternator are clamped using a varistor or zener diode.

    Abstract: A voltage mode control method and apparatus for extending speed range operation from a sinusoidally excited permanent magnet motor is described. The method includes a determination of a maximum value from a first set of parameters with each parameter having a known maximum value as well as a reading of a second set of parameters. A computation of a first derived angle using the first set of parameters and the second set of parameters is then performed. A computation of amplitude of phase voltage and a second derived angle using the first derived angle follows. A resultant output comprising a set of derived command voltages for controlling a power circuit is created whereby the power circuit can achieve required torque levels with lower currents for power switches.

    Abstract: The storage device includes slider members, each having a resilient clasp element for receiving and holding a recording medium housing. Each of the slider members is spring-loaded and slidable between a storage position in the storage device housing and an unloading position contained completely within the housing. In the unloading position a recording medium housing held by the slider member projects from a housing opening in the storage device housing so that it can be removed from the slider member but the slider member need not be pushed back. The storage device has a locking device for each slider member including a resilient blade attached to the storage device housing at one end and having a latching element at the other end so that, when a recording medium housing is put into a housing opening and received by a slider member in the unloading position, it can be pushed into the housing and secured in the storage position.

    Abstract: The container for flat articles, especially coins, which is part of a storage system for magnetic tape cassettes, in a motor vehicle, comprises a housing open on one side, a slider member insertable in the open side of the housing against a spring force and a locking device for locking the slider member in an inserted position. To provide a particularly reliable way of holding coins of different sizes so that they do not rattle when the container is moved, the slider member has a movable compartment floor which, as the slider member is pushed into the housing, is pressed by spring elements underlying it against an upper housing wall. The upper housing wall can be provided with foam strips and the compartment floor can be corrugated and provided with a fleece to better hold coins without rattling.
