  • Publication number: 20140280281
Abstract: A system and method for formatting in a database are disclosed. A request for data in a database is received from an application. The request includes one or more formatting functions to be performed on the data to display a result of the request in a graphical user interface generated by the application. The formatting functions are executed at the database to restructure the request. A query of the data in the database is then generated based on the restructured request, the query including only data to display in the graphical user interface according to the request. Then, a result of the query is returned from the database to the application for display in the graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 7899841
Abstract: An InfoSet API calls a query, the call defining selections for data retrieval. These selections are passed by the query to a report, which obtains data responsive to the selections via a data source. The obtained data is persisted in a global memory which allows such data to be accessed in multiple sessions. The persisted data is retrieved from the global memory by the query which in turns provides such data in response to the InfoSet API call. Techniques for automatically creating aspects of Infosets are also described as well as other related techniques, apparatus, systems, and articles.

  • Patent number: 7475333
Abstract: Systems and methods for defining a form with a plurality of layout items for data presentation by a business application provide a tree view with tree nodes to represent the layout items, wherein the view visualizes structure information, a processing order, a selected tree node to represent a selected layout item; provide a property view to display properties of the selected layout item; provide a layout view to display items, wherein the selected layout item is highlighted; modify the selected layout item and the processing order through interaction with a user; and create a form definition document. The compatibility of layout items and processing order with a predefined data interface of the business application is verified as well.

  • Patent number: 7464083
Abstract: A system, method and computer program product for linking multidimensional data sources in a relational database using database joins are disclosed. Attributes from a join query are filtered. The attributes include characteristics and restrictions of the join query. A subset of the attributes that are relevant to the multidimensional data source are extracted. A partial join query is generated from the extracted subset of the attributes. The partial join query includes characteristics and restrictions that are relevant to the multidimensional data source. It makes use of aggregated data defined for the multidimensional data source if appropriate.

  • Patent number: 7296038
Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for maintaining a database, including maintaining a collection of documents containing content, each of the documents including a hyperlink to another document and represented by a unique logical information object (LOIO), each unique LOIO pointing to one or more physical information objects (PHIOs), each of the PHIOs containing a variant of the content of a document, the variant being one of more attributes and determining a suitable PHIO when a LOIO is response to a request.

  • Publication number: 20070094233
Abstract: A method and system for linking the contents of two or more at least partially time-independent tables in a multidimensional data source are disclosed. A join operation is generated for the two or more at least partially time-independent tables. The join operation includes a query instruction that is executable on the multidimensional data source, and the query instruction has at least one time attribute. A pseudo time dependency between the two or more at least partially time-independent tables is determined. A time interval for the join operation is generated based on the pseudo time dependency. The join operation is then executed using the time interval as the at least one time attribute.

  • Publication number: 20030004836
Abstract: A form with a plurality of layout items for data presentation by a business application is defined by—simultaneously and one a single screen—providing (410) a tree view with tree nodes to represent the layout items, wherein the view visualizes structure information, a processing order, a selected tree node to represent a selected layout item; providing (420) a property view to display properties of the selected layout item; providing (430) a layout view to display items, wherein the selected layout item is highlighted; modifying (440) the selected layout item and the processing order through interaction with a user; and creating (450) a form definition document. The compatibility of layout items and processing order with a predefined data interface of the business application is verified as well.
