  • Patent number: 5503567
Abstract: The present invention relates to a termination module comprising multiple contacts for the termination of cable wires at an insulation displacement contact and comprising a pressure piece with a screw, an intermediate piece and a base plate. The object of the invention, is to develop a termination module of the type in which cable wires having different wire diameters can be terminated in a wide range. It is achieved by a closed bifurcated contact connected as one piece over a connection plate 21 with insulation displacement contact 7 and a tapping 18, insulation displacement contact 7 being disposed inclinedly behind bifurcated contact 6.

  • Patent number: 5373956
Abstract: The invention relates to a case, in particular a cable branching case for receiving and distributing cables, in particular light waveguides, for the telecommunication and for the low-voltage distribution. It is the object of the invention to provide a case of the type referred to hereinbefore, which has a modular design and is sufficiently sealed against the environment, by means of which an uncomplicated and service-friendly operation is guaranteed. For the solution of this object, the invention provides that the side walls of the case are formed of at least two box-type, opposed, L-shaped segments with a groove formed at the one longitudinal edge and a tongue formed at the other longitudinal edge, that the cover and the bottom element contain a groove and a tongue section for connection with the L-shaped segments, and that the L-shaped segments can be connected with the cover and bottom elements such that a movable door side and a fixed rear wall side are formed.

  • Patent number: 4973262
Abstract: A contact member for electrical conductors, in particular for cable wires of telecommunication systems, comprises two electrically conductive contact sections forming a contact slot, in order to simplify and make less costly manufacture and assembly of the components including the contact members, the contact section are formed from an insulating material and are provided with metallized contact surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4775330
Abstract: A cable connecting element, in particular a dropwire cable connecting element for double-wire dropwire cables comprises an upper and a lower part and of two connecting elements each moving two cutting and clamping contacts. This cable connecting element is intended to allow, with economic manufacture, an electrical connection between two double-wire dropwire cables, without removing their insulations from each other and without the distance between the wires being identical. The invention provides both in the upper part and in the lower part guide channels for accommodation of the double-wire cables into which their narrow sides are inserted. The guide channels of upper part and lower part have one connecting element, each with cutting and clamping contacts which penetrates the narrow slides of the respective incoming and outgoing double-wires and contact and connect the respective wires of both cables electrically.

  • Patent number: 4611874
Abstract: The subject matter of the invention relates to a device having a unitary terminal element (1) of X-shaped cross-section, in which the conductor wire (2), especially aluminum or multi-wire copper conductors, is adapted to be inserted centrally into the slot (10) through two insertion openings (3, 4) each of which includes a V-shaped centering portions (6) and two offset cutting lances (7, 8) at the lower end thereof, said cutting lances being intended to rip open the conductor insulation at offset and opposite locations. The size of the conductor wire (2) to be terminated, the slot width, and the resilient slot walls (10a, 10b) determine the contact pressure. The air gap of the slot (10) has an automatic matching function (e.g. when the conductor material ages) and ensures a continually sufficient contact pressure.

  • Patent number: 4541682
Abstract: The subject matter of the invention is a connector block (1) with solderless, non-screwed and stripping-free terminal elements (2, 3) having a polytropic air gap, for terminating dropwire cables (6) and cable wires (7). The terminal elements (2, 3), which comprise a terminal contact (2b, 3b) and a center contact (2a, 3a), have a semi-circular extension (2a') on the underside (2') of the center contact (2a, 3a), the spacing of said semi-circular extension relative to an earth bar (4) mounted in the housing lower half (12) being variable by tilting the earth bar (4) about 180.degree.; said earth bar (4) is adapted to be mounted at either of two different levels. Thereby it is possible to select a high-voltage spark-gap function.

  • Patent number: 4420200
Abstract: The invention relates to a surge-protected cable joint for telecommunication networks, comprising a joint casing closed at either end and having axial cable inlets, and terminal strips for the cable wires secured in the casing interior. In order to permit connection of an increased number of cable wires without increasing the external dimensions while at the same time obtaining a higher resistance to surge currents, the individual terminal strips are disposed within the joint interior in a plurality of double rows arranged in series and each row is fixedly mounted within a trough, thus resulting in a wiring free from crossover points and in an increased number of connections. The receiving troughs (2, 2a) are bolted together in pairs with their bottoms adjacent each other, and are secured to lateral connecting rails (4).

  • Patent number: 4281885
Abstract: A line telecommunications cable end system which is particularly suitable for installation in a rack, such as a casing, for supporting and fixing a lead-in cable end and for mounting terminal and/or isolating strips. The system comprises at least one pair of spaced, parallel earthing strips which each have a row of tags formed integrally on the top thereof. The tags extend through the end face of a corresponding number of terminal or isolating strips with LSA contacts and are of such a length that they can contact associated equipment such as a surge diverter.
