  • Patent number: 5718108
Abstract: A bobbin adapter for a holding device for high speed rotating yarn bobbins includes a hollow cylindrically-shaped body, a spindle disposed in a central bore of the body, and at least one catch member moveable transversely of the spindle axis. The adapter is provided with a guide member on the body cylindrical wall which is moveable to engage the catch member and impart movements to the catch member toward and from the body axis. The catch member is a sliding tab mounted for movement crosswise of the body axis and is provided with a central bore disposed in part coincident with the body central bore.

  • Patent number: 5127218
Abstract: A textile spindle for treating textile or the like, the spindle including a shaft driven by an individual motor. The rotor of the motor is on the shaft. A double row bearing includes an inner ring on the shaft. An outer ring of the bearing is supported in the spindle housing by two axially spaced apart rubber/metal elements. Two additional elastic damping elements attach the spindle housing to a spindle bearing plate. The motor stator is supported in a motor housing attached stationary with the spindle housing.

  • Patent number: 4803834
Abstract: The jacket enclosing a motor driven textile spindle of the type wherein the spindle is driven by a separate motor which is mounted on a common base with the spindle is modified to include air inlet and air exit openings. The motor is located in proximity to the spindle and is coupled to it by a toothed belt or the like. As the spindle is rotated by the motor air is drawn in through the inlet opening of the spindle and exits through the exit openings in the form of a strong stream of air which blows on and cools the motor. In this manner the spindle doubles as a fan for the motor and the necessity of providing a separate fan for the motor is avoided, resulting in savings in space and energy for driving a fan.

  • Patent number: 4566262
Abstract: The production of defective yarn in a friction false-twisting unit is deted and prevented. Variations of speed of rotation caused by defects in drive elements, such as worn or jammed bearings or a damaged drive belt, are detected by comparing a signal indicating the speed of rotation of at least one shaft with a reference signal. If the signal differs from the reference signal, an electrical fault signal is generated. This fault signal may control a thread cutting device which cuts the thread coming from the unit; or the fault signal may go to a central thread monitoring station where an operator may observe that a fault has occurred.

  • Patent number: 4226080
Abstract: A false-twist apparatus has a support defining three generally parallel and radially spaced axes surrounding a central axially extending twisting region. Respective shafts are journaled in this support for rotation about the axes and carry respective staggered sets of axially spaced disks whose rims radially overlap at the twisting region. Yarn eyes above and below the sets of disks are axially aligned with this twisting region so that a yarn to be false-twisted can pass axially through the lower eye, then zigzag along the regions in contact with the disks, and then pass axially out through the other eye. All of the disks are permanently joined and synchronously rotated. A holder displaceable in a straight line on the apparatus support carries a plurality of arms having yarn-pushing tips that can push a yarn to be false-twisted radially into the region.
