  • Patent number: 7010556
Abstract: The ratio of useful-signal power to the power of interference signals at an antenna (ANT) having plural sensors, and at least one sensor is obtained by filtering the antenna output signal with a filter having a transfer function (W(t), W(t, f)) equal to the ratio of two linear functions of the power ({circumflex over (p)}y(t), {circumflex over (p)}y(t, f)) at the output of the antenna to the power {circumflex over (p)}x(t), {circumflex over (p)}x(t, f)) at the input of the antenna (ANT).

  • Patent number: 6968352
Abstract: A device for processing digital data. A module (M2, M3) produces on a data vector of the frequency domain Z(k), wherein K varies from 0 to N?1, a convolution with a function U, convolution which corresponds to a cancellation in the time domain of the samples of the inverse transform of Z(k). The function U is in the form: U(k)=sin c(k?k0/2.e)?j?(?(k?k0/2.P(k)), wherein K0 is a constant integer and P(k) a weighting window symmetrical about k0.

  • Patent number: 6956906
Abstract: Data communication between two devices (11, 12) over the public powerline network (13) uses a multi carrier technology wherein a communication channel is divided into a plurality of subchannels by frequency division multiplexing. A partial power as part of the total transmission power and a partial rate as a fraction of the total data rate are assigned to each subchannel as follows: Initially, the same partial power is assigned to each subchannel and the S/N ratio of each subchannel is obtained. Starting with the subchannel of the lowest S/N ratio and proceeding to that of the highest S/N ratio, the following steps are performed for each subchannel: Firstly, the partial rate is assigned in accordance with the respective S/N ratio such as to result in a predetermined transmission error rate. The assigned partial rate is then quantised to an integral value.

  • Patent number: 6751262
Abstract: A data transmission method, particularly in electric networks, in which coded data are blockwise modulated onto several carrier frequencies within one or several particular frequency bands by an orthogonal frequency division multiplex method (OFDM) and in which the signal corresponding to a data block and obtained by inverse Fourier transformation is transferred to a receiver for a predetermined time duration (T), where individual signals succeed as signal blocks in time. In some embodiments, each signal is multiplied with a window function before transmission, the absolute value of the Fourier transform of which has a zero crossing at the respectively used carrier frequencies, and has secondary maxima, which have a damping of at least −30 dB in relation to the main maximum. In some embodiments, a digital filter can be used instead of the window function, the digital filter having an odd number of coefficients Ck, k=−m, . . . 0, . . .

  • Patent number: 6639948
Abstract: A device is presented for processing digital signals conveyed between a common port and many particular ports. The device includes a linear processing module. The module includes filters, which simultaneously apply a phase-shift and a chosen amplitude emphasis at each of the particular ports. The phase-shift is specific to each particular port, and the amplitude emphasis is substantially the same for all the particular ports. At the common port, the device also includes a common inversion filter, which performs inverse amplitude emphasis to the chosen amplitude emphasis.

  • Patent number: 6160757
Abstract: The output signals of the acoustic sensors of the antenna are subjected to a processing of the superdirective kind, with a constraint as regards the modulus and a non-linear constraint which fixes the incoherent noise reduction. The theoretical formulation of these constraints being as follows ##EQU1## the first constraint signifying that the total transfer function is a pure delay .tau., and the second constraint signifying that a limit is fixed for the incoherent noise reduction. The antenna is provided to improve the near-field reception.
