  • Patent number: 10941786
Abstract: A handheld work apparatus has a blower wheel. The blower wheel is held via a nut on the shaft in a manner locked against rotation by frictional force. A thread moment of friction is transmittable between the nut and the shaft via a thread section. A first moment of friction is transmittable between the nut and the blower wheel via a first friction contact surface. The first friction contact surface is configured such that, at a minimum tightening torque of the nut, the first moment of friction is greater than the thread moment of friction. As a result, during the operation of the work apparatus when there is a relative movement between the blower wheel and the shaft, the blower wheel moves the nut along therewith. The nut retensions the blower wheel against the shaft. The second friction contact surface runs conically with respect to the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 10670070
Abstract: A telescopic drive shaft in a protective tube of a handheld work apparatus has one end connected to a rotational drive and the other end thereof to a driven tool. The drive shaft includes a rigid shaft segment and a connecting section. The rigid shaft segment has a hollow shaft end portion and an engagement length (E) of the connecting section engages therein. The engagement length (E) and the length of the hollow shaft end portion mutually overlap to form a joining section. The hollow shaft end portion is deformed for connecting the connecting section to the rigid shaft segment. The material of the hollow shaft end portion is compressed over its entire periphery and deformed so that the material of the hollow shaft end portion is radially displaced and is pressed in a rotative manner onto the engagement length (E) to produce a balanced, loadable connection.

  • Patent number: 6418903
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection of a crankcase (3) of an internal combustion engine (1) to a cylinder housing (2) of which at least one housing part is made of light metal. The housing parts (2, 3) lie with their respective housing flanges (4, 5) in surface contact one against the other and are clamped seal-tight to each other with the aid of retaining screws (7). The retaining screws (7) are of light metal and a curing liquid seal (18) is between the housing flanges (4, 5) so as to lie against both sides. • Patent number: 5771583
Abstract: The invention is directed to a cutter blade support for a pair of knives of a hedge trimmer. The cutter blade support includes first and second bars conjointly defining a space therebetween. First and second cutter blades are arranged in the space and define respective sets of apertures formed therein. The first bar has openings formed therein and a plurality of threaded bolts are held in the second bar. The threaded bolts extend through the respective sets of apertures and have respective end portions extending through the openings in the first bar. Attachment nuts are disposed on the first bar and threadably engage corresponding ones of the end portions. The threaded bolts are pressed into the second bar so as to be tightly held therein and so as to be nonrotatable with respect thereto.

  • Patent number: 5245757
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor-driven chain saw having a motor mounted in a housing for driving a saw chain on a guide bar. The guide bar extends forwardly in the longitudinal direction of the chain saw from a forward housing end face. The housing is held by a grab handle for holding and guiding the chain saw. The handle has an upper segment projecting over the housing transversely to the longitudinal center axis of the guide bar. The upper segment extends at one end with a transition segment into a lateral segment lying approximately parallel to the plane of the guide bar and next to the housing. The cross section of the upper segment and the cross section of the lateral segment are configured in a shape which departs from the circular shape and are approximately the same. This affords an ergonomically advantageous hold and increases the operational safety.

  • Patent number: 5162230
Abstract: An arrangement introduces a metered volume of gas into a cavity filled with a melt of plastic. The cavity is defined by an injection mold for producing a hollow plastic body and the injection mold has an injection channel for introducing the molten plastic into the cavity. The arrangement includes a gas-injection nozzle assembly having a housing mounted in the mold and a member displaceably mounted in the housing so as to be movable between a first position and a second position located in spaced relationship to the injection channel. The housing and the member conjointly define a forward end portion of a nozzle assembly facing into the cavity at a region of the cavity spaced from the injection channel. A conducting channel in the forward end portion conducts the gas into the cavity when the member is in the second position. The conducting channel defines a gas-discharge opening for discharging the gas into the cavity.
