  • Patent number: 4736074
Abstract: For the transmission of data between a terminal device, which preferably comprises a personal computer, and a remote subscriber via a transmission link, in particular a teleprinter line, a transmission unit is arranged between the terminal device and the transmission link. The printer of the terminal device is also connected to the transmission unit. In addition to a transmitting/receiving unit, the transmission unit contains a control unit which is provided with a transfer device in order that the printer, as an output unit, can be supplied even with the data emitted from the terminal device in a local operating mode or with data transmitted via the transmission link. The control unit can additionally contain storage units and code converters.

  • Patent number: 4319077
Abstract: A circuit for coded symbol conversion has first and second memories and a switching stage. Standard code characters from a keyboard are entered into the first memory and if the entered character is one which can be represented by a single binary word the switching stage enables transmission of the single word. If the entered character is one requiring more than one binary word for representation the input is transmitted to the second memory which generates an equivalent set of binary words to represent the symbol and further transmission is delayed until all such binary words are generated.

  • Patent number: 4156105
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is disclosed which compares a preferred position of a type carrier driven by a stepping motor with binary values of signals actuating the stepping motor. If a signal assigned to the preferred position and a signal produced by the binary values of the signals do not coincide, stepping pulse trains are fed to the stepping motor until coincidence is reached. The stepping motor is thereby accelerated in accordance with an acceleration program so that said stepping motor runs with an approximately constant load angle as soon as possible, and that an unequivocal assignment exists between the stepping pulses and the position of the type carrier.

  • Patent number: 4142140
Abstract: A stepping motor control circuit incorporates two sources of pulses for driving a stepping motor, one of which has a frequency greater than the maximum frequency which the motor can follow. A pair of shift registers are used for effecting acceleration and deceleration of the stepping motor, when the high frequency pulse source is used. A first shift register stores an acceleration pulse sequence, to supply pulses to the stepping motor at an increasing rate, after which pulses are supplied directly to the stepping motor from the high frequency pulse source. The second shift register is energized to apply deceleration pulses to the stepping motor. Pulses having a relatively low frequency are supplied directly to the stepping motor when only a small motor movement is required.

  • Patent number: 4131840
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is provided for setting a type carrier, having character types arranged on the periphery thereof, from a present setting position to a new setting position over the shortest path of rotation, via a stepping motor, by means of pulse train elements derived from information characters input in binary form, where the relevant position of the type carrier can be read as a binary coded position character, in business machines, data machines, teleprinters or the like.
