  • Patent number: 5085668
Abstract: On testing triphendioxazine reactive dyes it was found that they are unsuitable for almost all conventional single-step printing processes since they are not stable under these conditions. In the course of the development of an uncomplicated single-step printing process for these dyes, it has been found according to the invention, then, that by replacing the customary fixing alkali (NaHCO.sub.3) by stoichiometrically specific amounts of sodium acetate or sodium trichloroacetate or certain mixtures of sodium trichloroacetate and sodium acetate it is possible to fix triphendioxazine reactive dyes in full yields without change in hue. In addition, it is possible to print conventional print pastes.

  • Patent number: 4722958
Abstract: Process for the preparation of copolymers from acrylamide and acrylic or methacrylic acid, wherein to prepare 100 parts by weight of the copolymer, (A) 10-90 parts by weight of acrylamide, (B) 90-100 parts by weight of acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid or of a salt thereof, (C) 0-40 parts by weight of another copolymerizable monomer and (D) 0-5 parts by weight of a copolymerizable crosslinking agent which has two or more olefinic double bonds are polymerized in an alcohol having 1-4 carbon atoms by precipitation polymerization such that 10-90% by weight of the alcohol, 10-90% by weight of the total amount of monomers (A), (B) and (C) together with 100% by weight of the crosslinker substance are initially mixed, polymerization is started with 10-100% by weight of the initiator and then the remainder of the solvent, monomers, crosslinking agent and initiator to make up to 100% is metered in, as individual components or as a mixture, after the polymerization has started.

  • Patent number: 4237249
Abstract: A crosslinked copolymer useful in textile printing is prepared by(a) polymerizing in the presence of a radical initiator in a water-miscible alkanol k mole percent acrylamide with 0 to 45 mole percent of a compound of the formula ##STR1## and 0.1 to 20 mole percent of a crosslinked agent wherein k is 99.9 to 50, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are hydrogen or methyl with the proviso that only one of R.sup.2 and R.sup.
