The cooking apparatus includes a cooking plate to receive a cooking container thereon, and at least one working coil disposed under the cooking plate to heat the cooking container, the at least one working coil including a first portion and a second portion having a different winding structure of a conducting wire which forms the working coil so that a winding density of the conducting wire at one of the first portion and the second portion is relatively higher than the other of the first portion and the second portion.

Abstract: A connection terminal of a litz wire, a mounting method thereof, and a manufacturing method of a cooking appliance with a working coil consisting of the litz wire. The mounting method includes preparing the litz wire including plural wires, each of which includes a sheath, installing one end of the litz wire at the connection terminal, removing the sheaths from the plural wires by heating the litz wire, and deforming the connection terminal through a pinch-off process, thereby connecting front ends of the wires through the connection terminal and removing the sheaths or sheath residues between cores of the wires, and thus reducing resistance of the litz wire.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a heating device usable with a cooking appliance and a manufacturing method thereof to assure economical formation and arrangement of a working coil. The heating device usable with a cooking appliance includes a working coil formed by spirally winding a conducting wire, and a sheet member arranged to support the working coil and having a supporting plane facing the working coil. Individual windings of the conducting wire, which constitute individual turns of the working coil, are spaced apart from neighboring windings by a predetermined distance. Spaces are defined between the individual neighboring windings of the conducting wire without a structure to guide the working coil.
