  • Patent number: 8804637
Abstract: A method for transmitting a midamble in a radio communication system is provided. The method includes: allocating a radio resource of a carrier for the midamble, and transmitting the midamble by using the allocated radio resource, wherein the carrier includes a used band allocated for transmitting a signal and a guard band allocated for preventing interference from occurring in the used band, and the midamble is allocated to a radio resource including the guard band. Accordingly, a midamble which can be used in both a user equipment operating at a narrow band and a user equipment operating at a wide band can be transmitted when a radio communication system is in a multi-carrier mode. Further, the midamble can be transmitted also in a guard band, thereby improving accuracy of channel estimation.

  • Patent number: 8599696
Abstract: A method of transmitting data using HARQ includes transmitting a first block, a partial bit stream of a codeword, and transmitting a second block, a bit stream starting from a bit index next to the last bit index of the first block, according to a retransmission request with respect to the codeword, wherein a different modulation scheme from that of the first block is applied to the second block. A coding gain of an incremental redundancy (IR) mode can be obtained although the amount of retransmission data is arbitrarily changed according to a change in transmission attributes such as a modulation scheme, resource allocation, the size of a transport block, or the like, in the adaptive HARQ scheme, so the transmission efficiency of a system can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 8548084
Abstract: A method for transmitting data in a wireless communication system comprises: receiving synchronization signals and midambles transmitted through a plurality of antennas; and estimating each channel of the plurality of antennas by using the synchronization signals and the midambles, wherein the synchronization signals and the midambles are transmitted such that the channels of the plurality of antennas are combined. Respective channel states of a plurality of antennas can be estimated by using the synchronization signals and the midambles, and data can be effectively transmitted.

  • Patent number: 8522110
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for transmitting data using turbo code. The apparatus includes an auxiliary bit adding unit configured to add padding bits to information bits, a convolutional turbo code (CTC) encoder configured to encode the padding bit-added information bits using turbo codes to generate coded data, a padding removing unit configured to remove the padding bits from the coded data, and a transmission processing unit configured to transmit the padding bit-removed coded data. The auxiliary bit adding unit adjusts the length of the padding bits according to a maximum size of an input that can be processed by the CRC encoder, and adds the length-adjusted padding bits to the information bits. Limited radio resources can be effectively used and the efficiency of data transmission can be improved.

  • Patent number: 8448038
Abstract: A data transmission method using an HARQ includes transmitting a first transmission block which is a portion of bit streams of a mother codeword, receiving a retransmission request with respect to the mother codeword, and transmitting a second transmission block which is a bit stream subsequent to the first transmission block, according to the retransmission request, wherein a modulation order obtained from a first range of a modulation order product code rate (MPR) is applied to the first transmission block, a modulation order obtained from a second range of the MPR according to the number of retransmissions is applied to the second transmission block, and the second range of the MPR is adjusted as much as a linear offset to the first range.
