  • Patent number: 6966535
Abstract: A table assembly that includes a snubber coupled to both a table and a vibration isolator. The snubber limits relative movement between the table and vibration isolator so that the isolator can more quickly damp movement by the table. The snubber reduces the settling time of the table when subjected to shock and/or vibration loads. The snubber may include one or more rollers coupled to an elastomer.

  • Patent number: 6619611
Abstract: A vibration isolator that has an elastomer which couples a support plate to a piston. The elastomer can provide horizontal damping of a payload that is coupled to the support plate. The piston can move within a first housing inner chamber that is in fluid communication with a second housing inner chamber. The chambers are pressurized with air that can flow to dampen vertical movement of the piston. The vibration isolator of the present invention thus provides both vertical and horizontal damping without using any oils.

  • Patent number: 6598545
Abstract: A table that includes a damper attached to a first faceplate and a second faceplate. The damper can dampen flexural loads introduced to the table by either shock or vibration. The damper may include a damping layer that is attached to a first plate and a second plate. The first plate may be cantilevered from the first faceplate. The second plate may be cantilevered from the second faceplate.

  • Patent number: 6568666
Abstract: A vibration isolator with a flange that extends from a piston. The piston may be coupled to a housing by a diaphragm. The diaphragm and flange define a balancing chamber that is in fluid communication with a leveling port. The flange is separated from the housing by a gap that provides fluid communication between the balance chamber and an inner chamber within which the piston moves relative to the housing. The piston is coupled to a support plate that is attached to a payload. The leveling port may be coupled to a leveling valve that varies the pressure within the balancing chamber and inner chamber to compensate for a disturbance applied to the isolator. The flange will provide a force that is opposite to the movement of the piston. The counteracting force minimizes oscillations in the isolator caused by releveling the support plate.

  • Patent number: 5379980
Abstract: Intermittent stabilization of a load table supported by pneumatic vibration isolators is provided by determining a load shift condition, increasing passage of gas to the pneumatic vibration isolators and imposing external or internal damping on the load table in response to that load shift condition. For internal damping, the pneumatic vibration isolator is provided with damping fluid in one of its pneumatic chambers and a damping fluid friction passage is provided between that damping fluid in that one pneumatic chamber and the other pneumatic chamber.

  • Patent number: 5071108
Abstract: A pneumatic vibration isolation system, wherein an operating piston is displaced by vibrations relative to a chamber containing compressed gas, and automatically centers that operating piston for each inflation of the chamber with compressed gas. The isolation system may have a contoured centering guide for that piston.
