  • Patent number: 7451462
Abstract: A disk drive includes an outer casing having a front side formed with a tray opening, a tray disposed within the outer casing and movable with respect to the latter between retracted and extended positions and a tray cover attached to a front side of the tray. A resilient structure is interposed between the tray and the cover to provide a resilient force therebetween such that when the tray is retracted into the outer casing, the tray cover sealingly covers the tray opening in the front side of the outer casing by virtue of the resilient force provided by the resilient structure.

  • Patent number: 7448054
Abstract: An apparatus for clamping a disk comprises a clamper and a turntable. The clamper having a first cushion member is disposed on a bottom side of the clamper. The turntable is movably disposed relative to the clamper thereby clamping the disk between the turntable and the clamper. When the turntable is moved toward the bottom side of the clamper, one of the turntable and the disk touches the first cushion member first and then the clamper attaches to the turntable tightly for clamping the disk between the clamper and the turntable, therefore a striking force generated from the impact of one of the turntable and the disk on the clamper is reduced by the first cushion member.

  • Publication number: 20050289566
Abstract: A guide rail fitting structure for optical disc drive includes rails formed on the tray and several guide poles formed on the base. At least a supporting guide pole is formed with inclines on vertical surfaces. The rails of the tray are also formed with correspondent inclines. When the tray extracts, the weight of the tray itself or also the load of a disc carried by the tray causes the tray a little lean-down. The corresponding inclines of the rail and the guide poles fit to each other so as to automatically eliminate the gap between the rail of the tray and the guide poles of the base, and prevent the tray from vibration during retraction.
