  • Patent number: 9879287
Abstract: The process for the dry fractionation of lignocellulosic biomass of at least 50% by weight of lignins, cellulose and hemicelluloses. The biomass is fragmented to obtain an ultrafine powder. The process includes at least one step of separating a fraction enriched with cellulose and a fraction enriched with lignin, hemicelluloses and minerals by electrostatic sorting of the ultrafine particles. Preferably, the fraction separation step includes a step of triboelectrostatic charging of ultrafine particles and at least one step of deviating a path in the electric field of the charged particles to sort the particles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 24, 2014
Date of Patent: January 30, 2018
Assignees: INSTITUT NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE AGRONOMIQUE, CIRAD
Inventors: Bruno Piriou, Abdellatif Barakat, Xavier Rouau, Gilles Vaitilingom

  • Publication number: 20160310957
Abstract: A dry method for the fractionation of oilseed cakes. Oilseed cakes are grounded into a powder of ultrafine particles. The ultrafine particles of the powder are triboelectrostatically charged. The path of the charged particles in the electric field is deviated to sort the particles and to provide at least one lignocellulose-enriched fraction.

  • Publication number: 20150007492
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solid fuel in the form of a powder, including at least one lignocellulosic component in the form of a powder. The present invention also relates to the method for preparing said lignocellulosic component in the form of a powder, as well as to the use thereof in the production of a solid fuel intended for an internal combustion engine or a burner. The invention further relates to a method for generating energy using the solid fuel according to the invention.
