  • Patent number: 10729862
Abstract: A device (20) is disclosed for dispensing a fluid supplied from an external fluid source. The device comprises a transducer (32) adapted to receive a fluid from the fluid source, and a collapsible linkage and trip link (502) coupling the transducer and the fluid source. The linkage has a collapsible joint inhibiting discharge of the fluid source when in a locked orientation. The device (20) further comprises a moveable member coupled to the linkage such that inhalation forces on the device cause the linkage to collapse thereby discharging the fluid from the fluid source. The device may further include a dose counter coupled to the fluid source for registering the amount of doses administered from the fluid source.

  • Patent number: 9713685
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dose counter. Particularly, but not exclusively, the invention relates to a dose counter for use with a Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI). The dose counter comprises a rotary counting element (26) and an actuator (2). The actuator (2) is movable relative to the rotary counting element (26) and comprises a shaped part (17) which can move into and out of engagement with a complementary feature (33) of the rotary counting element (26) when the actuator (2) moves between first and second positions. When the shaped part (17) of the actuator (2) is engaged with the complementary feature (33) of the rotary counter element (26), rotation of the rotary counter element (26) is resisted.

  • Publication number: 20160279355
Abstract: An inhaler device for facilitating the inhalation of a medicament from a pierceable medicament capsule, the inhaler device including a body having a chamber for receiving a pierceable medicament capsule, piercing means for piercing a medicament capsule received in the chamber, an actuating member moveable relative to the body, and a plurality of cam members and a cam track. One movement of the actuating member relative to the body causes one of the cam members to move along the cam track in abutment therewith, the piercing means thereby being pressed from a retracted position to an extended position and another movement of the actuating member relative to the body causes the other one of the cam members to move along the cam track in abutment therewith so that the piercing means is pressed from an extended position towards a retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20100126507
Abstract: The present invention provides an inhaler device (1) for dispensing multiple doses of medicament, the inhaler comprising medicament extraction facilitating means (22) for locating adjacent or in a compartment (42) of a received medicament cartridge and thereby allowing an extraction of medicament from the compartment; and operating means (54) moveable in first and second directions by a user. The medicament extraction facilitating means is movable from a retracted position to an extraction position in response to movement of the operating means in the first direction. The extraction position allows extraction of medicament from said cartridge compartment upon inhalation by a user, and the retracted position allows advancement of the medicament cartridge. The medicament cartridge is driven by the operating means so as to advance a cartridge compartment into a predetermined position relative to the extraction facilitating means in response to movement of the operating means in the second direction.
