  • Publication number: 20130317240
Abstract: Recombinant DNA techniques are used to produce oleaginous recombinant cells that produce triglyceride oils having desired fatty acid profiles and regiospecific or stereospecific profiles. Genes manipulated include those encoding stearoyl-ACP desturase, delta 12 fatty acid desaturase, acyl-ACP thioesterase, ketoacyl-ACP synthase, and lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase. The oil produced can have enhanced oxidative or thermal stability, or can be useful as a frying oil, shortening, roll-in shortening, tempering fat, cocoa butter replacement, as a lubricant, or as a feedstock for various chemical processes. The fatty acid profile can be enriched in midchain profiles or the oil can be enriched in triglycerides of the saturated-unsaturated-saturated type.

  • Publication number: 20080022390
Abstract: The invention comprises three extensions of the IEEE 802.1Q VLAN bridge model. The first extension is the cryptographic separation of VLANs over trunk links. A LAN segment type referred to as an encapsulated LAN segment is introduced. All frames on such a segment are encapsulated according to an encryption and authentication code scheme. The second extension is the division of a trunk port into inbound and outbound ports. The third extension is a protocol that automatically infers for each outbound port in a bridged VLAN, a set of LAN segment types for the port that minimizes the number of transfers between encapsulated and unencapsulated segments required to transport a frame in the bridged VLAN.

  • Patent number: 5833686
Abstract: An ultra-high-frequency (UHF) cosmetic apparatus using UHF electric current of about 50 MHz to treat 80 kinds of dermatosis without any side effect, e.g. to remove a variety of benign vegetations on skin, especially on facial skin. The apparatus can also be used to perforate on ear lobes, to radically treat hicismus and hairiness. The UHF oscillating signal source of the invention consists of an UHF oscillator, a power amplifier, a coupling isolating circuit and an electric current-frequency stabilizing circuit, the UHF signal is output to the area to be treated through an output electrode and a variety of scapels of needle-type or of blade type. After treatment by the apparatus, the skin is smooth without any scar and infection, and the restoration period is very short. The apparatus is suitable for use in medical beauty treatment.
