    Abstract: A method for improving line stability, an adjusting apparatus and a system are provided. The method includes determining an Operating Performance Value (OPV) on a current Digital Subscriber Line (DSL); and if the OPV is below a preset Target Performance Value (TPV), adjusting Management Information Base (MIB) parameters in a line template. The apparatus includes a determining unit and an adjusting unit. With the provided method, apparatus, and system, the error correction capability of the DSL line can be updated with the actual bit error ratio to adapt to a complex environment and to improve the line stability.

    Abstract: This invention presents a multimode xDSL line card adaptive activation method, comprising the following steps: A) A master controller is installed and configured with multiple templates based on the modes of operation supported by a line card, and forwards templates to said line card; B) The line card receives templates forwarded by the master controller and activates the line card communications chip; C) The communications chip communicates with the remote CPE and decides on a mode of operation according to a handshake protocol; D) The line card employs a corresponding template according to the mode of operation chosen in Step C, and practices circuit activation with the CPE. This invention solves the existing problems in current multimode xDSL technology of poor compatibility and inability to adapt effectively.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for avoiding false initialization of xDSL transceivers. Prior to the initialization of xDSL transceivers, the method includes: by the transmitting port of a first xDSL transceiver, sending a message about the transmitting port to the corresponding receiving port of a second xDSL transceiver; by the receiving port of the second xDSL transceiver, returning a response message to the transmitting port of the first xDSL transceiver according to the received message; by the first xDSL transceiver, judging the response message received by the transmitting port, and, if the received message has a certain relationship with the message sent by the transmitting port of the first xDSL transceiver, proceeding with the subsequent initialization process; otherwise, quitting the initialization process of the transmitting port. The method of the present invention prevents the xDSL transceiver or its ports from entering the false initialization state.
