Patent number: 10695770Abstract: A mechanical bin-full device for a paper shredder with a bin, having a curved, perforated T-blade sensor on a cylindrical body partially covered with a metal sheet. The T-blade is pendent into the bin. Metal contacts are placed on the paper shredder near the metal sheet, forming a switch, which is coupled to a motor control circuit for the shredder motor. The T-blade is pushed by paper shreddant and rotates the cylinder body as paper shreddant fills the bin. When the bin becomes full, the T-blade is positioned so that the metal contacts touch the metal sheet, closing the control circuit switch, and causing the motor to cease operating. The control circuit can include a microcontroller coupled to the motor, or a transistor-based driver coupled to a motor relay.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2018Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: Aurora Office Equipment Co., Ltd. Patent number: 10449546Abstract: A paper shredder bin-full sensor with a push bar, a conductive element coupled to the push bar, a sensing contact assembly normally set apart from the conductive element, and a signaling contact coupled to the sensing contact assembly. Sensor includes a push bar sweeper between the conductive element and the push bar, and a biasing element coupled to the push bar sweeper, the biasing element elastically resists the shredded material force. A predetermined shredded material force presses the push bar, causing the conductive element to couple to the sensing contact assembly, in turn causing a waste bin-full signal to emanate. Push bar can be articulated and non-articulated. Articulated push bars include upper and lower push bars, and respective tensioning element connecting the respective upper and lower push bars. Lower push bar is extended from upper push bar. Paper shredder can have articulated or non-articulated push bars.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2017Date of Patent: October 22, 2019Assignee: Aurora Office Equipment Co., Ltd. Patent number: 9587248Abstract: Plants having increased resistance to a pest relative to corresponding control plants are provided. The resistant plants have inhibited expression, activity, or function of a susceptibility gene, and thereby have decreased expression, activity, or function of the susceptibility gene in the presence of the pest as compared to a control plant in which the wild-type susceptibility gene is normally expressed in the presence of the pest. Methods of producing plants with increased resistance are also provided. The methods involve altering the expression, activity, or function of a susceptibility gene, such as Mds-1, in the plant. Isolated Mds-1 sequences are provided that can be manipulated to enhance pest resistance in modified plants. Modified plants, plant cells, tissues, seeds, and progeny are also provided having enhanced pest resistance.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2012Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignees: THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE, KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FOUNDATIONInventors: Harold Trick, Xiuming Liu, Ming-Shun Chen

Publication number: 20160089410Abstract: Composition useful in treating and/or preventing spontaneous abortions derived from a traditional recipe of herbal medicine. The composition contains active components from three herbal medicines: total flavonoids of Cuscuta Chinensis, total flavonoids of Taxillus Sutchuenensis, total polysaccharides of Taxillus Sutchuenensis, and total saponins of Radix Dipsaci Asperoidis. This composition shows potent effects on reducing apoptosis induced by mifepristone in trophoblast cells, likely by inhibiting the expression of Bax, Caspase-9 and Caspase-3. Its effect is more significant than progesterone, one of the compounds currently used for preventing spontaneous abortions.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2014Publication date: March 31, 2016Inventors: SONGPING LUO, JIE GAO, TING FENG, XIUMING LIU
