  • Publication number: 20240137523
Abstract: A low-complexity panoramic video coding method considering distortion temporal propagation is provided. By analyzing the inter-frame reference relationships under the random access coding structure and establishing the corresponding distortion propagation chain, the method utilizes distortion impact factors of coding units to adjust encoding parameters, thereby optimizing the encoding process. Furthermore, the method addresses the issue of oversampling arising from the varying geometric deformations in different latitude regions during the projection of spherical images in panoramic videos. This is achieved by adjusting coding parameters based on the ratio of area changes at different latitudes. The proposed approach significantly enhances coding performance.

  • Publication number: 20210294053
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to fiber optic closure terminals with increased versatility. A fiber optic closure terminal is provided that includes a mount assembly for mounting at least one fiber optic module within a housing. The mount assembly includes a pivotable plate and a translatable plate configured to pivot the at least one fiber optic module greater than ninety degrees thereby providing better access to fiber management features at a bottom of the base of the fiber optic closure terminal. The improved access increases versatility by facilitating installation and/or maintenance of connecting a fiber optic cable to optical connections in the fiber optic module(s). The fiber optic closure terminal can also include a strain relief assembly configured for attachment and removal from the base of the housing for increased versatility regarding installation and/or maintenance of the fiber optic closure terminal.

  • Publication number: 20210284987
Abstract: The present invention provides engineered polypeptides that are useful for the asymmetric synthesis of ?-hydroxy-?-amino acids under industrial-relevant conditions. The engineered polypeptides disclosed in this invention were developed through directed evolution based on the ability of catalytic synthesis of (2S, 3R)-2-amino-3-hydroxy-3-(4-nitrophenyl) propanoic acid. The present disclosure also provides polynucleotides encoding engineered polypeptides, host cells capable of expressing engineered polypeptides, and methods of producing ?-hydroxy-?-amino acids using engineered polypeptides. Compared to other processes of preparation, the use of the engineered polypeptides of the present invention for the preparation of ?-hydroxy-?-amino acids results in high purity of the desired stereoisomers, mild reaction conditions, low pollution and low energy consumption. So, it has good industrial application prospects.

  • Patent number: 5894346
Abstract: A portable testing device for examining biological samples in one embodiment comprises a support and a tubular member having a lens holder adjacent one end thereof rotatably mounted on the support. A light source is moveable axially within the tubular member between an on position where the light source is illuminated and an off position. A biological sample support surface is provided adjacent the lens holder on which a biological sample to be examined is placed. A lens through which a user can look to examine a biological sample placed on the biological sample support surface is removably supported by the lens holder. The light source and tubular member carry co-operating formations which are configured such that the light source moves axially within the tubular member upon rotation of the tubular member. In another embodiment the light source is stationary and is responsive to a light-sensitive circuit.
