The fixed and orbiting scrolls match each other in order to form a series of compression cavities therebetween including a central compression cavity and middle compression cavities located radially outside of the central compression cavity, and. The middle compression cavities include at least a set of a first middle compression cavity and a second middle compression cavity. A fluid channel selectively communicating with a discharge area is provided between the first and second middle compression cavities, and the first middle compression cavity directly communicates with the second middle compression cavity by means of the fluid channel.

    Abstract: A process includes applying a slurry to a surface of a metallic article to produce a slurry film on the surface. The slurry is composed of a liquid carrier, chromium and aluminum, and an agent that is reactive with the chromium and aluminum to form intermediary compounds. The article and slurry film are then thermally treated at an activation temperature at which the agent reacts with the chromium and aluminum to form the intermediary compounds. The intermediary compounds deposit the chromium and aluminum on the surface. The thermal treating also diffuses the chromium and aluminum into a sub-surface region of the article such that the sub-surface region becomes enriched with chromium and aluminum.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a return network simulation system that can simulate changes in a retailer's return network to determine the impact of those changes. Advantageously, being able to accurately simulate the retailer's return network means changes can be evaluated without first making those adjustments in the physical return network. Doing so avoids the cost of implementing the changes on the return network without first being able to predict whether the changes will have a net positive result (e.g., a positive result that offsets any negative results). A retailer can first simulate the change on the return network, review how the change affects one or more KPIs, and then decide whether to implement the change in the actual return network. As a result, the retailer has a reliable indicator whether the changes will result in a desired effect.

A synthetic labor efficiency is determined for the node from the synthetic scenario. Labor resources are calculated based on the synthetic inventory allocation for the synthetic scenario. The labor resources of at least one node are displayed on a user interface of a user device.

For each of the N simulations, a multi-objective optimization is performed to determine a cost factor of the parameter settings. The parameter settings with a lowest cost factor are selected.

    Abstract: A miniature quantitative optical coherence elastography system with an integrated Fabry-Perot force sensor for in situ elasticity measurement of biological tissue is provided. The technique has great potential for biomechanics modeling and clinical diagnosis. The qOCE system contains a fiber-optic probe that exerts a compressive force to deform tissue at the tip of the probe. Using the space-division multiplexed optical coherence tomography signal detected by a spectral domain optical coherence tomography engine, probe deformation in proportion to the force applied is quantified, as well as the tissue deformation corresponding to the external stimulus. Simultaneous measurement of force and displacement allows for calculation of Young's modulus from the biological tissue.
