  • Publication number: 20230309072
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a drone service retrieving network state information describing a network state of at least a portion of a communication network, determining an impact of the network state on operation of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), selecting a carrier frequency to be used for communication by the UAV, and providing the data describing the carrier frequency to the UAV and/or to communication network nodes. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230247497
Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to modeling radio wave propagation in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include, for a network application, identifying, by a system comprising a processor, a first performance characteristic of first base station equipment, wherein the first base station equipment is actively communicating with a user equipment via a first network connection. The method can further include, based on the first performance characteristic being in a condition in relation to a first threshold, determining, by the system, to execute a handover of the user equipment to a second network connection with second base station equipment, resulting in a handover determination. Further, the method can include, based on the handover determination, facilitating, by the system, executing the handover of the user equipment to the second network connection.

  • Publication number: 20230224773
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards intelligent dual-connectivity for non-standalone network nodes. Network nodes can report state information to a central controller, such as a radio access network intelligent controller. The controller can determine, based on the state information reported by multiple network nodes, network nodes to cooperate in non-standalone mode. The controller can provide the network nodes with instructions to implement the controller's non-standalone relationship determinations.

  • Publication number: 20230199665
Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to modeling radio wave propagation in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include, for a network application, identifying, by a system comprising a processor, a user equipment communicatively coupled to base station equipment via a first network connection implementing a first radio access technology and a second network connection implementing a second radio access technology. The method can further include identifying, by the system, performance characteristics of the first network connection and the second network connection. Further, the method can include, based on the first performance characteristic and the second performance characteristic, facilitating, by the system, allocating, to the user equipment, power for uplink transmission by the first network connection and the second network connection, resulting in an uplink power allocation.

  • Publication number: 20230060496
Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards associating a distributed unit (a baseband function) with a radio unit, corresponding to a service area, when the radio unit transitions from an idle state to an active state with respect to serving user equipment. When an idle radio unit receives a message requesting connection from a formerly idle user equipment, or user equipment to be served due to a handover, the message triggers assignment of a distributed unit to the radio unit, whereby the radio unit becomes active to serve the user equipment. If insufficient distributed unit capacity exists, a new distributed unit is dynamically instantiated and assigned to the radio unit. When a radio unit transitions from active to idle, the radio unit is disassociated from the distributed unit. If a distributed unit is not associated with any radio unit, the distributed unit is deactivated to reduce resource consumption.
