  • Patent number: 11957804
Abstract: High-energy optical disinfection systems inside a commercial airplane using highly efficient, flexible, and durable side-emitting optical fibers optically coupled to high-energy UV-C laser diodes to destroy submicroscopic infectious agents and inactivate microorganisms inside the airplane. With the high-energy UV-C laser diodes optically coupled to the side-emitting optical fibers, which can be easily routed to different areas inside the airplane, the high-energy UV-C laser light emitted from the side of the optical fiber will disinfect the airplane along a wide or long swath continuously without interruption.

  • Publication number: 20240007641
Abstract: An electronic device may include one or more sensors and one or more displays. The electronic device may receive content to be displayed on the one or more displays, information identifying a region of interest in the content, and an action associated with the region of interest from at least one external server. The electronic device may display the content. The electronic device may obtain, via the one or more sensors, a point of gaze and determine that the point of gaze overlaps the region of interest in the content. In accordance with the determination that the point of gaze overlaps the region of interest in the content, the electronic device may perform the action associated with the region of interest. • Publication number: 20230368475
Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that facilitate the use of application content such as text, images, video, and 3D models in XR environments. In some implementations, a first device (e.g., an HMD) provides an indicator corresponding to a content item currently/recently used on a second device (e.g., a mobile phone), where the indicator is positioned based on a position of that second device. A user may visit a website on their mobile phone and, while using their HMD, see a view having a depiction of their mobile phone with a nearby indicator (e.g., an affordance) for accessing that same website on the HMD. The affordance may be positioned based on (e.g., next to) the mobile phone such that its positioning provides an intuitive user experience or otherwise facilitates easy understanding of the use of content item on the other device.

  • Patent number: 11634149
Abstract: In a self-driving autonomous vehicle, a controller architecture includes multiple processors within the same box. Each processor monitors the others and takes appropriate safe action when needed. Some processors may run dormant or low priority redundant functions that become active when another processor is detected to have failed. The processors are independently powered and independently execute redundant algorithms from sensor data processing to actuation commands using different hardware capabilities (GPUs, processing cores, different input signals, etc.). Intentional hardware and software diversity improves fault tolerance. The resulting fault-tolerant/fail-operational system meets ISO26262 ASIL-D specifications based on a single electronic controller unit platform that can be used for self-driving vehicles.
