  • Publication number: 20200073199
Abstract: A cleansing lighting device includes a laser light source configured to emit light in the visible light spectrum or in the infrared light spectrum. The cleansing lighting device also includes a light frequency up-converter to convert longer wavelength light from the laser light source to shorter wavelength light. The converted light has a dominant wavelength in the portion of the ultraviolet range at or below 380 nm, suitable for the cleansing application. An example cleansing lighting device may also include an optical element, such as a beam shaping lens or a variable optical beam deflector, to distribute the resulting ultraviolet light from the up-converter for the cleansing application. Such a cleansing lighting device may be a standalone device, although the device or individual components for light-based cleansing may be incorporated in a luminaire, for example, together with an artificial light source adapted to general illumination.

  • Publication number: 20200045789
Abstract: A lighting fixture for powering multiple LED groups to generate a selectable color temperature. The lighting fixture provides varying amounts of power to each group of LEDs to achieve a selected color temperature. Current from a driver may be divided between the LED groups based on a selected operational state, which is selected using a switch or other configurable input. The operational states may turn the LED groups on or off or may control an amount of current received by the LED groups. In some configurations, all of the LED groups are always at least partially powered.

  • Publication number: 20200037419
Abstract: The lighting device includes a luminaire, duplex circuitry, a lighting control device to control a light output and operation of a light source in a vicinity of the luminaire, and a sound transducer integrated on a surface of an element of the luminaire. The sound transducer responds to vibrations of the luminaire element to detect incoming audio waves and generates outgoing audio waves in the vicinity of the luminaire. The duplex circuitry is coupled to electrical terminals of the sound transducer and configured to generate a first electrical signal of the incoming audio waves, and supply a second electrical signal to cause the sound transducer to generate the outgoing audio waves in the vicinity of the luminaire that are directly proportional to the second electrical signal.

  • Patent number: 10512128
Abstract: A master lighting fixture and a satellite lighting fixture can each include an LED board including multiple LEDs that can emit visible light. A power supply and a LED regulator can be connected to the LED board in the master lighting fixture to provide power to operate the LED board. The LED board in the master lighting fixture can be connected to the LED board in the satellite lighting fixture to form a circuit to allow the power provided by the LED driver to be transmitted to the LED board in the satellite lighting fixture. A defect in the LED board in the master lighting fixture or the satellite lighting fixture can open the circuit, which can prevent power from being transmitted through the LED boards to enhance the performance of LEDs in the LED boards or reduce a risk of damage that can be caused by the LED boards.

  • Publication number: 20190380182
Abstract: Battery charge function may be in an LED driver which eliminates the duplication of line interface circuitry. A single line interface circuit provides the input power conversion for both the battery charge function and normal operation of the LED driver. During a loss of power, the LEDs may be controlled using power from the battery backup module.

  • Publication number: 20190247528
Abstract: An example luminaire includes a white light source (e.g. LEDs emitting white light in a region of the CIE color chart within three Macadam ellipses below the black body curve) and a violet light source emitting light in a wavelength range of approximately 380 nm to 450 nm (e.g. 405 nm LEDs) for deactivating bacteria, such as Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) on a surface exposed to illumination from the luminaire. A controller coupled to the sources pulses the violet light source at periodic intervals or at random times. When ON, the violet source emits light for deactivating bacteria at an intensity higher than the concurrent intensity of the white light.
