Abstract: A keypad for a portable terminal is disclosed. The portable terminal includes a first housing and a second housing coupled with the first housing so as to be able to slide in a first direction or in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction. The keypad includes a first keypad on the first housing which is exposed or covered as the second housing slides in the first direction, and a second keypad on the first housing which is exposed or covered as the second housing slides in the second direction.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an adaptable charging cradle with a speaker usable with a variety of types of portable communication devices. The charging cradle includes a cradle body having a box-shaped receiving space with a front and an upper end opened, at least one speaker unit mounted to the cradle body for emitting sound, and a replaceable sliding cradle housing having fitting means for fitting a portable communication device in the replaceable sliding cradle housing. The replaceable sliding cradle housing is slidably guided in the receiving space of the cradle body such that the portable communication device fitted in the cradle housing can be held in the cradle body. The charging cradle further comprises a connection member mounted to a predetermined position of the receiving space for charging the portable communication device fitted in the cradle housing and holding the cradle housing.

Abstract: A double sliding-type portable communication apparatus, in which one housing slidably moves relative to the other housing through double-sliding motions, which includes a main housing extending in a longitudinal axis and a sliding housing moving in said longitudinal and also lateral directions across the main housing whose upper surface faces away from the main housing to allow the sliding housing may become displaced away from the main housing and also slidably return to overlap the main housing, wherein said housings are aligned parallel to each other in the longitudinal axis or a lateral direction across the main housing to expose predetermined regions of an upper surface of the main housing with keys provided thereon.

Abstract: A portable slim communication device with a sliding pop-up type keypad, including a body housing having a display unit disposed at the upper surface thereof, an upper frame attached to the body housing along the upper edge of the body housing, a first keypad accommodated in the upper frame while being in parallel with the display unit for performing a sliding movement on the display unit to expose or cover a predetermined region of the display unit, a second keypad movable upward or downward in a pop-up fashion according to a sliding movement of the first keypad while being in parallel with the upper surface of the display unit in the upper frame, and a key frame to guide the pop-up movement of the second keypad while accommodating the second keypad.

Abstract: A portable terminal is disclosed having a first housing; a swing hinge module providing a rotation axis which extends perpendicularly to a top surface of the first housing; and a second housing coupled to the swing hinge module and adapted to be rotated about the rotation axis while facing the first housing. As the second housing is rotated about the rotation axis, the swing hinge module stops the rotation of the second housing at least once at a predetermined position. The second housing is rotated semi-automatically by means of the swing hinge module.

Abstract: A sliding/swing-type portable digital communication apparatus including a main housing having a speaker unit positioned on its rear surface; key housings, each of which is positioned on a side of the main housing, the key housings being adapted to slide a predetermined distance toward or away from the main housing along a longitudinal direction for exposing or hiding the speaker unit according to whether or not the key housings have slid; and a swing housing adapted to rotate about a hinge axis, which is oriented perpendicular to the sliding direction of the key housings, within a predetermined range of angle while continuously facing an upper surface of the main housing and upper surfaces of the key housings for exposing and hiding predetermined areas of the key housings.
