Abstract: A method for displaying a progress state of processing data and a host computer for implementing the method is provided. Further, a method for displaying a plurality of progress states of processing data and a host computer for implementing the method is provided. According to the method, at least more than a signal representing a plurality of progress states of processing data are generated, and a plurality of progress states of processing data are respectively displayed according to the generated signals. The method displays a progress state of the image data reception and a progress state of processing the image data by using a plurality of progress bars, respectively, so that a user may easily check the progress state of the reception of the image data and the progress state of the image process of the image data.

Abstract: An office automation (OA) device and methods of installing, reinstalling, and upgrading a driver of the OA device. The OA device includes a class information storage unit to store class information based on which a host device identifies the OA device and to output class information when being accessed by the host device; an program storage unit to store a driver program and a driver installation program for the OA device; and a control unit to control the host device to access the program storage unit when the class information read from the class information storage unit by the host device is a CD-ROM class, to control the OA device to perform inherent functions of the OA device when the class information is an inherent class of the OA device, and to change the class information set in the class information storage unit to a predetermined class in response to completion of installation of the OA device driver or an external input.

Abstract: A system to set a scan image as wallpaper includes a scanner and a host. The scanner includes a scanning part to scan a document and to form image data, an interface to communicate with another medium, and a control part to control the scanning part and the interface to transfer the image data to another medium via the interface. The host is connected with the scanner, and includes a driver program unit to drive the scanner, an application program unit to generate an image file by processing the image data transferred from the scanner, and a monitor to display the image file. When an automatic wallpaper setting is selected, the host processes the image data formed by the scanner according to a scan command to generate an image file, and automatically sets the image file as wallpaper on the monitor.

Abstract: A method of setting a user interface of a driver program of an image processing device includes applying a transparent setting to display the driver program in a transparent state on a display device to the driver program, and displaying the driver program with the applied transparent function on the display device when an application program operates the driver program. The driver program does not block an acquired result of the application program, and a user is able to perform a scanning operation at an optimum environment by adjusting a transparency level of the driver program displayed over the application program.

Abstract: A tape substrate including an insulating film, a copper foil pattern formed on the insulating film at one side of the insulating film, and provided with a connecting area where an electronic element is to be mounted, a barrier layer plated on the copper foil pattern at the connecting area, and formed with a plurality of pores, and a tin layer plated on the barrier layer, and alloyed with a portion of the copper foil pattern corresponding to the connecting area, through the pores. A method for fabricating the tape substrate is also disclosed. In accordance with the invention, it is possible to reduce the time taken for the copper foil pattern to come into contact with the electroless tin plating solution used in the tin plating process, thereby preventing the copper component of the copper foil pattern from being eluted. Accordingly, there is no open-circuit fault caused by formation of pores.

Abstract: An image data compensation method and apparatus, with the method including calculating a distance between a first reference line adjacent to a pattern and the pattern, calculating a distance between a second reference line adjacent to the pattern and perpendicular to the first reference line and the pattern, and calculating a difference between the predetermined coordinate value and the distances calculated, based on the first and second reference lines. Such an image data compensation method can compensate for image data errors due to mechanical tolerances each scanner has at a low cost when the scanner scans documents.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for installing device drivers for driving peripherals, including obtaining peripheral identification information from a peripheral, synthesizing a basic address of a site providing a device driver and peripheral identification information of the peripheral, and when the combined address is accessed, retrieving the device driver provided from the combined address and installing the retrieved device driver in the host and/or peripheral.
