Patent number: 10108247Abstract: A control system includes a housing engaged to a mounting surface, a sensor contained within the housing, a microcontroller unit connected to the sensor, a server in communication with the sensor, and a terminal device in communication with the server. The system starts in an idle mode with the microcontroller having low power consumption. A gesture by a user associated with the mounting surface switches or toggles the operating mode of the control system into a ready mode. In the ready mode, the microcontroller has higher power consumption so as to connect the sensor to the server, and gestures by the user associated with the mounting surface can control the terminal device. The system alerts the switch in operating mode and filters background environment so only gestures are interpreted for switching operation mode or for issuing commands of the terminal device.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2016Date of Patent: October 23, 2018Assignee: Swan Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Yaniv Boshernitzan, Ohad Nezer

Patent number: 10082878Abstract: A sensor of a control system can be controlled by commands based on knocking gestures. The method includes installing a housing with a sensor, generating a contact interaction, detecting the data signals corresponding to the contact interaction, determining a status data pattern, matching the detected profile with a status gesture profile associated with a command to switch the sensor to a listening status, and controlling terminal devices when the sensor is in the listening status. The control system can also use gestures to control the terminal devices. The method includes manually setting or calibrating the gesture profiles according to audio parameters for sound and vibration parameters for vibrations. The gesture profiles can include a sensitivity factor, surface selection factor, and a threshold factor.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2016Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Assignee: Swan Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Yaniv Boshernitzan, Ohad Nezer

Publication number: 20180267614Abstract: The control system includes a housing on a mounting surface, an accelerometer sensor, an acoustic sensor, and a microcontroller unit. Contact interactions are detected by the accelerometer sensor to switch the acoustic sensor from slack status to active status. When the acoustic sensor is able to detect gestures concurrent with the accelerometer sensor, subsequent contact interactions are detected by both sensors to control a terminal device. The system can further include a server in communication with the accelerometer sensor and the acoustic sensor, and a terminal device in communication with the server. A subsequent contact interaction can be detected by both sensors as a gesture matching a data profile corresponding to a command for the terminal device. The acoustic sensor and the accelerometer sensor confirm each other so that inadvertent hits and background noise are filtered from subsequent contact interactions intended to be gestures for controlling.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2017Publication date: September 20, 2018Inventors: Yaniv BOSHERNITZAN, Ohad NEZER

Patent number: 9996738Abstract: A control system includes a housing engaged to a mounting surface, a sensor contained within the housing, a server in communication with the sensor, and a terminal device in communication with the server. A gesture by a user associated with the mounting surface controls activity of the terminal device, such as a knock on a wall lowering a thermostat. The control system enables a mounting surface independent from the terminal device to become a controller for the terminal device. The sensor forms an interactive zone, and a contact interaction with the mounting surface within the interactive zone is detected by the sensor as data signals. The server receives the data signals, determines a data pattern corresponding to the data signals, and matches the data pattern with a gesture profile. The gesture profile is associated with a command transmitted to the terminal device to control activity of the terminal device.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2016Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: Swan Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Yaniv Boshernitzan, Ohad Nezer

Patent number: 9812004Abstract: The control system for a terminal device and a switch can be operated by gestures and incorporate existing infrastructure. The control system includes the wall, wiring, electricity source to the wall, the switch with a control module, and the terminal device connected to the switch. The system also includes a housing and a sensor within the housing. The control module receives gesture data from the sensor to actuate the switch corresponding to desired activity of the terminal device. The range of activities of the terminal device corresponds to the different modes of the switch. The system can retrofit a terminal device and a switch in an existing installation so that the terminal device can be controlled by gestures. The control system can also have power source based on the existing infrastructure or a battery.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2017Date of Patent: November 7, 2017Assignee: SWAN SOLUTIONS, INC.Inventors: Yaniv Boshernitzan, Ohad Nezer

Publication number: 20110276889Abstract: An online bookmarking system enabling a logged-in user to assemble, organize and access personal web links from any online location through a user-specific uniform resource locator is disclosed. The system comprises a bookmark adding button enabling the Internet user to add a currently visited webpage to a user-specific database of server-stored bookmarks, a floating module displayed on the logged-in specific database for synchronizing with the bookmark adding button for adding bookmarks, a plurality of web link modules categorized by the user, and a private module for maintaining at least one confidential link of the user with a security identification means. Each of the web link modules can be titled relevant to a category and the web links may be repositioned within and between the web link modules using a drag-and-drop interface. The web link modules may also be dragged and dropped above or below other web link modules.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2010Publication date: November 10, 2011Inventor: YANIV BOSHERNITZAN
