  • Publication number: 20180081026
Abstract: A method for enabling last mile positioning of a target mobile communication device that is configured to communicate via a mobile communication network includes communicating with the target mobile communication device via the mobile communication network to cause the target mobile communication device to transmit a signal. At least one parameter of the transmitted signal is sent to one or a plurality of direction finder devices to enable the one or a plurality of direction finder devices to receive and distinguish the transmitted signal. Geographic information related to the last mile positioning of the target mobile communication device is received from the direction finder devices.

  • Publication number: 20160112833
Abstract: A system for location-based control of a ring mode of mobile communication devices includes a server configured to communicate with the devices via a network. The server is also configured to receive from a device an indication to change a zone designation of a geographic region at a current location of the device to a silent zone. Any previously received indications for the change of zone designation from other devices are retrieved. If a criterion for implementing the indicated change is met, a change of the zone designation to a silent zone is recorded. The ring mode of a mobile communication device that is located within that geographic region is automatically switched to silent mode.

  • Patent number: 7171227
Abstract: A method of increasing traffic in a telecommunications network by motifying a user that an opportunity to complete a previously incomplete call exists. The method includes receiving connection requests directed towards the telecommunications network, identifying connection requests directed towards a specific subscriber, compiling a list of incomplete connection and storing the list in a database, determining that the opportunity to complete the connection exists, and notifying the user that the opportunity exists.

  • Patent number: 7106849
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing Intelligent Network services are provided. Signaling probes separate from a switch listen to traffic on a signaling network wherein the switch communicates with other switches and subscriber equipment. Events identified within the signaling traffic are communicated to a Service Contact Point (SCP) via an ancillary network such as a packet switch network. Optionally, the SCP relays a command to the switch in response to the detected event.

  • Publication number: 20020034190
Abstract: A method and associated hardware for managing communications in a cellular network. Network usage is monitored by signaling mediation probes, either by monitoring signaling links or by receiving usage information from network elements. Based on the monitored network usage, an activity server predicts a forthcoming time interval during which sufficient network resources will be available to allow a predetermined message to be sent to one or more users of the network. When the time interval arrives, the activity server initiates the sending of the message, either by itself sending the message or by triggering another device to send the message.

  • Patent number: 6198470
Abstract: A digital input device for entering data into a digital system, comprises at least two remote sensors and a control unit. A working area is set up in proximity to the sensors and the position of an object within the working area is detected by the input device based on data provided by each sensor and transmitted, by said control unit, to said digital system. The position of an object outside said working area, if detected by said input device, is rejected by said control unit and is not transmitted to said digital system. The sensors can be ultrasonic sensors and the object can be a part of the body of a user. Use of a third sensor allows three-dimensional detection of the object.

  • Patent number: 5742596
Abstract: A network based distributed private branch exchange (PBX) system is described. Telephony clients communicate using regular telephone sets connected to telephony client modules installed in a host computer. Central office (CO) telephone lines terminate on telephony server modules installed in another host computer. A telephony server provides call switching functionality to the system. To transfer voice over the network, analog voice data is first digitized, packetized and then placed onto the network by the host computer. At the destination host computer, the packets are depacketized and converted back to analog voice. Packets generated from digitized voice data are no treated no differently on the network then regular non-voice traffic and are not given any special priority over non-voice traffic. The system includes client related features typically found in conventional PBX equipment such as call forwarding, conferencing, transfer, park, etc.
