    Abstract: A process for productive an easy-open can lid made of a resin laminated metal sheet comprising laminating a metal sheet or surface-treated metal sheet on one or both surfaces thereof with a crystalline saturated polyester resin film having a thickness of 10 to 100 ?m, an elongation of at least 150%, a degree of crystallinity of not more than 10%, and a heat of fusion of crystalline of not less than 10 joules/g, to form a laminated metal sheet for an easy-open can, forming by a composite cold-forming method a tear-along grooves of a residual thickness of not more than ½ of the thickness of the material using top and bottom dies of a die radius of 0.1 to 1.0 mm, then heat treating the crystalline saturated polyester resin layer at the portion surrounding the tear-along groove at a temperature of at least the crystallization starting temperature and less than the melting point thereof and, also, an easy-open can lid obtained by the same and a resin laminated metal sheet used for the same.

    Abstract: A metal easy open can lid, and a process for producing the same, wherein the can openability is improved and the occurrence of defects in the resin film at the time of shaping is eliminated whereby repair coating of the inner and outer surfaces are made unnecessary by making the cross-sectional shape of the opening guide groove of the easy open can lid an S-shape are provided, wherein, when forming the opening piece for easy manual opening in the metal lid, the properties of the resin film on the metal sheet, the shape and dimensions of the shoulder portions of the punch and die, the clearance, the residual thickness of the opening guide groove, the degree of the push-back processing, etc. are specified so as to achieve a superior can openability without breakage of the resin film by forming an opening guide groove with an S-shaped cross-section.

    Abstract: This invention provides a rust-proofed steel sheet for a fuel tank including an alloy layer containing at least one of Ni, Fe, Zn and Sn and deposited on the surface of a steel sheet to a thickness of 2 .mu.m per surface, and a Sn--Zn alloy plating layer consisting of 40 to 99 wt % of Sn and the balance of iron, containing not greater than 20 crystals/0.25 mm.sup.2 of zinc crystals having a major diameter of not greater than 250 .mu.m and deposited on the alloy layer to a thickness of 2 to 50 .mu.m per surface. The to-be-plated steel sheet to which the plating layer is applied has a composition consisting of C.ltoreq.0.1%, Si.ltoreq.0.1%, Mn: 0.05 to 1.2%, P.ltoreq.0.040%, Al<0.1% and if necessary, at least one of B, Ti, Nb and Cr, and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities. This invention provides also a production method of a rust-proofing steel sheet for a fuel tank comprising the steps of applying Ni--Fe type pre-plating to an annealed steel sheet in a quantity of 0.1 to 3.0 g/m.sup.

The effect can be improved by adding cobalt, nickel, chrome salts to the aqueous solutions.

    Abstract: A method for treating the surface of a steel sheet adapted for use in making a container or can is provided. A nickel-defused layer is first formed while recrystallization annealing is conducted, upon which layer a film of chromium is plated after temper rolling or double cold rolling. The good lacquer adhesion property of the Cr layer and the good formability of the Ni layer will synergetically act so as to give an excellent anti-corrosion property to a material for cans.
