  • Publication number: 20190366594
Abstract: A three-dimensional printing system for manufacturing three-dimensional articles includes an input storage, a print engine subsystem, an intermittent transport mechanism, a post-process subsystem, and a controller. The input storage is for holding a plurality of empty support trays. The print engine subsystem includes a plurality of print engines. The post-process subsystem includes at least one post-process module and a continuous transport mechanism. The controller is configured to operate the intermittent transport system to transport empty support trays to the print engines, operate the print engines, and operate the intermittent transport system to transport full support trays to the continuous transport system.

  • Publication number: 20190366595
Abstract: A post-processing system is configured to receive full support trays from a print engine subsystem. The full support trays individually include an upper rim coupled to a lower face. A three-dimensional article fabricated by the print engine subsystem is attached to the lower face. The post processing subsystem includes a continuous transport mechanism and a plurality of post-process modules. The continuous transport mechanism extends along a lateral Y-axis and includes a pair of synchronized belts that are separated along an X-axis. The pair of belts are for receiving portions of the upper rims of the support trays. The plurality of post-process modules are disposed along the continuous transport mechanism in sequence and at least include a resin removal module followed by a post-cure module.

  • Publication number: 20190224917
Abstract: A three dimensional printing system includes functional modules including a source of empty support trays, a print engine, a spinning apparatus, and a transport system. The source of empty support trays includes at least one support tray which includes a lower planar portion and an upper datum portion. The print engine is configured to receive the empty support tray and to form a three dimensional article of manufacture onto the lower planar portion thereby providing a full support tray. The spinning apparatus includes a plurality of tray holders arranged around a vertical axis of rotation and a motor system for rotating the tray holders about the vertical axis of rotation. The plurality of tray holders include a tray holder having receiving surfaces for receiving the upper datum portion of the full support tray. The transport system is configured to transfer support trays between functional modules.
