  • Patent number: 5635684
Abstract: A device for detecting position which has a good S/N performance and which can be easily designed is provided. Said device has the feature of: a plurality of antennae in which three or more turns of loop coils are arranged in parallel; a transmitting circuit for transmitting an electromagnetic wave via one of the antennae; a receiving circuit for receiving a responding electromagnetic wave from the position indicator; a selecting circuit for selecting one of the antennae; a transmitting/receiving switch circuit for connecting the selected antenna to either of said transmitting circuit or said receiving circuit; a connecting control circuit for controlling operations of the selecting circuit and the transmitting circuit; and a discriminator circuit for discriminating the position and the state of said switch based upon the characteristics of a signal received to send the discriminated information.

  • Patent number: 5629500
Abstract: Detailed information about plural factors determining a color and the coordinate value of a pointed position are determined from a position pointing device. The detailed information about the plural colors is by factors such as detailed gradation information on basic colors such as red, green, and blue. The amplitude or frequency of an AC field is controlled in accordance with the set color information. The AC field has a spatial distribution corresponding to the coordinate value of the pointed position.

  • Patent number: 5600105
Abstract: A position detecting device and a position pointing device therefor, which are capable of sending various types of instructions from a tablet to a cordless position pointing device, thus controlling the operation thereof. The tablet is equipped with an instruction generating means and an electromagnetic wave transmitting means to transmit an electromagnetic wave, which includes an operation state setting instruction, to the position pointing device. The position pointing device is equipped with an electromagnetic wave receiving means, an instruction extracting means, and an operation setting means to receive the electromagnetic wave, which includes the operation state setting instruction, extract the operation state setting instruction, and set the operation state in accordance with the extracted operation state setting instruction, thus enabling the operation state of the position pointing device to be set.

  • Patent number: 5530210
Abstract: There is disclosed a position detecting apparatus capable of operating with a high electric power efficiency, which can be configured only with digital circuits without analog switches. The position detecting apparatus includes a plurality of loop coils (2-1, 2-2, 2-3), and a plurality of three-state drivers (5-1, 5-2, 5-3) wherein one end of each loop coil is connected to corresponding one of three-state drivers. The other ends of the plurality of loop coils (2-1, 2-2, 2-3) are connected in common to a three-state driver (6). One of three-state drivers (5-1, 5-2, 5-3) is selected and connected to a NOR gate (4), while the other three-state drivers are maintained in a high impedance state, and the three-state driver (6) is grounded, whereby a signal generated by an oscillator (3) is applied to the selected loop coil so as to generate a radio wave.

  • Patent number: 5371835
Abstract: A neural coupling includes a pair of primary and secondary members for coupling a precedent node to a subsequent node to synaptically transmit a signal through a neural network. A primary member responds to a signal from a precedent node to generate an inductive field according to the received signal. A secondary member spatially coupled to the primary member by the inductive field supplies to a subsequent node a corresponding signal in response to the inductive field to effect synaptic transmission of the signal through the neural network.

  • Patent number: 5130500
Abstract: A digitizer for determining coordinate value of a point designated on a given two-dimensional coordinate plane. A pointing instrument is manually operable to designate a point on the given two-dimensional coordinate plane of a tablet. The tablet includes a flat sensor defining the given two-dimensional coordinate plane and operative for transmitting magnetic signal between the flat sensor and the pointing instrument disposed thereon to detect the designated point to thereby produce a detection signal, and a shielding plate disposed under the flat sensor to magnetically shield the flat sensor. The shielding plate is composed of silicon steel containing 4.0 to 7.0 weight % of silicon. A processing circuit is connected to the flat sensor for processing the detection signal to determine the coordinate value of the designated point.
