  • Patent number: 11193398
Abstract: A friction member is clamped between a driven shaft of an internal combustion engine and a vane rotor and includes an oil passage hole. The oil passage hole communicates between a first oil passage of the driven shaft a second oil passage of the vane rotor. Each of positioning arrangements includes a primary engaging portion of the vane rotor and a secondary engaging portion of the friction member. The positioning arrangements are configured to limit relative rotation between the vane rotor and the friction member in a communicating state where the first oil passage and the second oil passage are communicated with each other through the oil passage hole.

  • Patent number: 9840946
Abstract: A variable valve timing control device has, as control modes for adjusting inflow and outflow of oil with an OCV, a lock mode for moving a lock pin in a locking direction, a phase control mode for controlling a camshaft phase by a target phase in accordance with an operation state of an engine, and an oil filling mode for filling an advancement chamber and a retardation chamber with the oil in a state that the lock pin moves in the locking direction, before shifting from the lock mode to the phase control mode. When the oil filling mode has been selected, a target position of a spool is set based on viscosity of the oil, and the position of the spool is controlled so as to be the set target position.

  • Patent number: 8776745
Abstract: A variable valve timing apparatus includes a stopper piston which has an equalizing passage in an axial direction. Even if the engaging hole is filled with the oil, the equalizing passage enables the oil flows from an engaging hole to a holding hole when the stopper piston enters into the engaging hole. It is possible to form a vane as narrow as possible, and to enlarge a variable angular range. In addition, the stopper piston has both end faces which are substantially identical in surface area. Even if pulsation arises in oil pressure, pressures acting on both end faces of the stopper piston can be substantially cancelled and position of the stopper piston can be stabilized.

  • Patent number: 8534247
Abstract: A valve timing control apparatus includes a linear solenoid having a coil, a casing, a needle, a pair of cylindrical stators and a cylindrical spacer. The pair of cylindrical stators oppose with each other through an air gap in an axis direction. The pair of stators and the needle form a magnetic circuit so as to drive the needle to reciprocate. The cylindrical spacer fits with an outer circumference side of the pair of stators so as to restrict a short circuit from being generated in the magnetic circuit between the pair of stators. The spacer defines a discharge passage that connects the air gap to a discharge port of the casing.

  • Patent number: 8264312
Abstract: A linear solenoid includes a shaft to reciprocate in an axis direction, a movable member fixed to the shaft, a front stator, a rear stator, a coil, a front housing, and a rear housing. The front housing is made of metal, and covers the front stator and the coil in the axis direction. The rear housing is made of metal, and is connected to the front housing so as to define a space to accommodate the movable member, the front stator, the rear stator and the coil. The rear housing covers the rear stator and the coil in the axis direction.

  • Patent number: 8006718
Abstract: A sleeve has an input port, an output port, an insertion hole, and only one discharge port. A spool is axially slidable through the insertion hole to communicate among the input port, the output port, and the discharge port. An electric actuator is provided to one end of the sleeve and has a variable volume chamber, which communicates with the discharge port through an axial through hole and a spool breathing hole in the spool. The spool has a communication through hole to lead fluid from the output port to the discharge port through the axial through hole. A passage partition member is in the axial through hole to define an in-spool breathing passage communicating with the spool breathing hole.
