  • Patent number: 7028937
Abstract: A reel unit has a housing unit, a first lid, a second lid, and a rod-attachment portion. The housing unit has an accommodation space formed in the interior thereof that accommodates and supports a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism has a master gear non-rotatably coupled to a master gear shaft. The first lid is made of a metal and is fixedly coupled to the housing unit to interpose the master gear with the housing unit. The second lid is made of a synthetic resin and is fixedly coupled to the housing unit to close the accommodation space. • Patent number: 6983906
Abstract: A master gear includes a shaft made of an aluminum alloy, a gear portion, and an annular member made of stainless steel alloy. The shaft is screwed onto a handle shaft, a gear portion that is integrally formed on the outer periphery of the shaft. The shaft is supported by the reel unit at rotational support portions via bearings and has female threaded portions on its ends such that the handle is screwed to one of the female threaded portions. The gear portion is arranged on an outer periphery of the shaft portion between the rotational support portions, and meshes with a pinion gear. The annular portion is mounted to the outer periphery of the shaft such that at least part of the annular member is disposed not between the rotational support portions. With this structure, it is easy to remove bearings from a master gear of a spinning reel.

  • Patent number: 6851638
Abstract: A rotation support structure for a dual-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a spool shaft, and fluid bearings. The spool shaft is disposed on an inner circumferential side of the reel unit and can rotate relative to the reel unit. The fluid bearings have a plurality of grooves for forming a fluid lubricant film between the reel unit and the spool shaft. The rotation support structure is provided for a high-speed rotation operation of a dual-bearing reel, with which a reduction of the rotation performance during high-speed rotation can be successfully suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6848642
Abstract: Fishing reel bearings curtail deterioration in rotational performance, and improve anti-corrosiveness, as well as make it easier to wash the bearings without incurring internal component corrosion. Dual-bearing reel bearing—a bearing provided between a boss, and a spool shaft disposed to the circumferentially inner side of, and rotational relative to, the boss—is furnished with an outer race, an inner race, and a plurality of rolling bodies. The outer race is fitted into the boss. The inner race is fitted in the spool, disposed parted at a clearance from the outer race. Between the two races, the rolling bodies of the plurality are disposed, circumferentially spaced and contacting both the races. The outer race, the inner race, and the rolling bodies are SUS 440C manufactures coated with a highly corrosion-resistant film.

  • Patent number: 6607154
Abstract: Spool is mounted rotatably via bearings on spool shaft of a spinning-reel, and is furnished with first and second bearing housings, bobbin trunk, and front and rear flanges. At least a part of second bearing housing is made of metal. The bobbin trunk, which is furnished with the first and second bearing housings, is a synthetic-resin manufacture outer circumferentially onto which fishing line is wrapped. The front and rear flanges are arranged on the front and rear of the bobbin trunk, and are larger in diameter than the bobbin trunk. With the present invention, it is easier to take out and replace the spool bearing although the bobbin trunk is subjected to compressive force.
