  • Patent number: 8309109
Abstract: A cosmetic in an emulsified state, in which a titanium dioxide microparticle coated with hydrous silicic acid and/or a hydrous silicate compound, a higher alcohol, an oily component other than the higher alcohol, and a polysaccharide are contained, and the polysaccharide containing at least one of fucose, glucose, glucuronic acid and rhamnose as a constituent monosaccharide, and having fucose and/or rhamnose in a side chain is contained in an amount of 0.01% by weight to 1% by weight relative to the total amount of the cosmetic. And a cosmetic containing the higher alcohol, the oily component and the polysaccharide in an emulsified state, in which the higher alcohol is composed of two or more kinds of higher alcohols having different molecular weights, and is contained in the cosmetic in an amount of 1% by weight to 20% by weight relative to the total amount of the cosmetic.

  • Publication number: 20090324658
Abstract: A cosmetic exhibiting improved thermal stability and storage stability, which is prepared by using a three-phase emulsification-dispersing method in an aqueous phase. In the cosmetic containing an oily base material and/or a pigment as a component to be emulsification-dispersed, an emulsification-dispersing agent and water, the thermal stability and storage stability are improved, and the emulsification-dispersing agent composed of a polysaccharide having a particulate structure as a main component, and two or more kinds of components to be emulsification-dispersed are contained. The components to be emulsification-dispersed exhibit a dielectric constant ranging from 1 to 5 (F/m), and an inorganicity/organicity ratio ranging from 0 to 0.5.

  • Patent number: 5378832
Abstract: The present invention provides a polymer comprising a polysaccharide having excellent water absorption properties, moisture absorption properties, moisture retention properties and thickening properties. Said polysaccharide has the following properties: (A) the principal constituents of the sugar composition are rhamnose, fucose, glucose and glucuronic acid which are present in a molar ratio of (1-4):2:(1-8):(1-4); (B) elemental analysis (wt %):C: 36 .+-.3H: 7 .+-.1O: 56 .+-.4,containing 9-13% of crystalline water(C) solubility:slightly soluble in water; soluble in alkalies; insoluble in methanol, ethanol and acetone;(D) UV absorption spectrum:no absorption detected at 280 nm characteristic of proteins (peptides) or at 260 nm characteristic of nucleic acids; and(E) IR absorption spectrum:an absorption pattern characteristic of polysaccharides is observed near 800-1200.sup.-iSaid polysaccharide is produced by a fermentation method using a natural medium or a synthetic medium of Alcaligenes microorganism.
