  • Patent number: 5148187
Abstract: A color printer is provided in which a paper sheet is wrapped about a rotatable platen and three colors are printed on the sheet, to obtain an image, by a thermal head and a color ribbon during three rotations of the platen. In a paper feeding device for the printer, a sheet of paper is fed by a feeding roller, from the bottom of a stack of paper sheets in a paper tray through, a feeding guide to the platen. The tray has an opening in its bottom plate so as to expose the lowermost paper sheet stored therein. The feeding roller is provided under the tray and lifts up toward the opening of the tray so as to come in engagement with the lowermost paper sheet, the feeding roller rotating to feed it to the platen. The width of the platen is less than that of the sheet and the circumference thereof is less than the length of the sheet. Therefore, when the sheet is wrapped about the platen, it extends laterally outward from the ends thereof, and its ends overlap.

  • Patent number: 4492482
Abstract: A thermal transfer printing system for printing data on a medium employing a plurality of aligned heat elements has a memory for receiving data and a driver for driving or energizing selected ones of the heat elements to print the stored data in a timed sequence which prevents preheating of certain heat elements. In one arrangement, upon driving the heat elements, every other heat element is first driven or energized to print the respective data, and then the remainder of the heat elements are driven. After all heat elements are energized according to the data to be printed, a stepping motor is actuated and the medium is advanced in preparation for printing a next line of data.

  • Patent number: 4484231
Abstract: A printing apparatus for printing a picture which is formed by a plurality of full and half dots on the screen of a television receiver in response to a luminance signal supplied thereto, includes an integration circuit for integrating the transmitted signal and having a time constant which is selected so that the integrated transmitted signal of a saw-tooth waveform rises to a first level greater than a threshold level when the transmitted signal corresponds to a full dot of displayed information and rises to a second level less than the threshold level when the transmitted signal corresponds to half dot information; a latch circuit for latching the integrated transmitted signal only when the level thereof is greater than the threshold level in response to a latch signal supplied thereto, so as to produce an output signal corresponding only to that portion of the displayed picture formed of full dots; and a printer for printing the picture in response to the output signal.
