Publication number: 20230302793Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid ejection head includes a nozzle plate, pressure chambers, actuators, and a drive circuit. The nozzle plate includes nozzles for ejecting liquid. The pressure chamber communicates with the nozzles. The actuator varies the volume of the pressure chamber according to a drive signal. The drive circuit generates the drive signal for driving the actuator. The ejection waveform in the drive signal includes an expansion potential difference changes that changes in stages and a contraction potential difference change that changes in stages. The drive circuit set the timing of the stages to cancel the vibration of an acoustic resonance frequency in a frequency range higher than a main acoustic resonance frequency of the liquid in the pressure chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2023Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventor: Yasuhito KIJI

Patent number: 11014353Abstract: An ink jet head includes a pressure chamber, an actuator, and an application unit. The chamber accommodates liquid. The actuator changes a volume of the chamber with a drive signal to be applied. The unit apply s the signal to the actuator. The signal includes a discharge pulse and a vibration pulse. The discharge pulse causes liquid to be discharged from a nozzle. A second discharge pulse is applied after a first discharge pulse. The vibration pulse is applied before the discharge pulse, has a potential having a polarity opposite to that of the discharge pulse. A period of the discharge pulse is 1.5 times to 2.5 times a half-period of a main acoustic resonance frequency of liquid in the chamber. A pulse width of the first pulse is closer to the half-period of the main acoustic resonance frequency than a pulse width of the second pulse.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2019Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Yasuhito Kiji

Patent number: 10632745Abstract: An inkjet head comprises a pressure chamber that stores liquid; an actuator that changes a volume of the pressure chamber in response to an applied driving signal; and an applying section that applies the driving signal to the actuator. The driving signal includes a discharge pulse and an oscillation pulse. The discharge pulse enables liquid to be discharged from a nozzle communicating with the pressure chamber. The oscillation pulse is applied before the discharge pulse and has a potential opposite in polarity to that of the discharge pulse to generate pressure oscillation for promoting discharge of the liquid in the liquid. When the driving signal includes two or more successive discharge pulses, a cycle of the discharge pulse is 1.5 times or more and 2.5 times or less as long as a half cycle of a main acoustic resonance frequency of the liquid in the pressure chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2019Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Yasuhito Kiji
