  • Patent number: 11479251
Abstract: A vehicle control method is provided such that when a host vehicle is stopped at a front of a vehicle line of vehicles in accordance with a stop signal of a traffic light at an intersection, the engine is stopped by using an idle stop control. When either a left-turn or a right-turn will be made after the traffic light changes to a go signal, a presence or an absence of a traveling body, which is stopped on a side of or behind the host vehicle in a direction from which the host vehicle is turning, is detected during the stop signal. Upon determining the traveling body is stopped on the side of host vehicle, restarting of the engine is placed on standby even when the traffic light turns to the go signal, and the engine is restarted in accordance with a behavior of the traveling body.

  • Publication number: 20200339155
Abstract: Provided is a vehicle control method for controlling a vehicle that executes self-driving by which the vehicle is at least started and stopped without requiring an operation by a driver. With the vehicle control method, when an own vehicle enters an intersection while the self-driving is executed, it is determined whether or not there is another vehicle approaching the intersection in a lane that is opposite to or intersects with a lane in which the own vehicle travels based on how light from a headlamp of the another vehicle is seen, and the own vehicle is started or stopped based on a result of the determination.

  • Patent number: 9050964
Abstract: An output power of the internal combustion engine (1) is transmitted to a drive wheel via a torque converter (2B) having a pump impeller and a turbine runner. A lockup clutch (2C) directly connects the pump impeller and the turbine runner during a coast running of a vehicle. When the accelerator pedal is slightly depressed during a coast running of a vehicle in a fuel cut-off state, the lockup clutch (2C) disengages. In addition, fuel recovery of the internal combustion engine (1) is suppressed until the engaging pressure of the lockup clutch (2C) decreases, thereby preventing a vehicle speed change caused by an output power increase of the internal combustion engine (1) before the lockup clutch (2C) substantially disengages.
