  • Patent number: 8978393
Abstract: An outdoor unit of air conditioner for ensuring strength against an impact applied to an electrical component box in a front-back, left-right, or top-bottom direction. The electrical component box has an upper partition plate, a front plate, and a box base plate coupled to one another and supported by an arm and a support post. The arm substantially perpendicularly supports the front plate in a front-back direction, and the upper partition plate. Thus, the electrical component box is strong enough to withstand an impact in the front-back and the left-right directions. Further, the support post substantially perpendicularly supports the arm and the box base plate in a top-bottom direction allowing the electrical component box to withstand an impact in the top-bottom direction. Also material of the electrical component box can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8763416
Abstract: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner for facilitating setting of an electrical component box into the outdoor unit. A blower chamber side of a box base plate is similar in shape to a lower partition plate provided with a receiving part formed by bending inward an upper end of the lower partition plate. When joining an electrical component box to the lower partition plate, the box base plate is set onto the receiving part along a flange, whereby positioning the electrical component box, which is fixed to the lower partition plate by fastening with a screw, welding, or other suitable method. The positioning can be achieved only by putting the box on the receiving part along the flange. Facilitated positioning and fixing leads to simplicity and enhanced workability.

  • Publication number: 20120195000
Abstract: An outdoor unit of air conditioner for efficiently cooling a board having a heater element and a heat generating component in an electrical component box, thereby enhansing heat release efficiency. Air flowing from a machinery chamber 11 into an electrical component box 60 is divided into: a flow Fa flowing from open space defined by an arm 64 and a support post 65 through a periphery of a box base plate 62; a flow Fb flowing through a first ventilation hole 62b; a flow Fc flowing through a second ventilation hole 62c; and a flow Fd flowing through a third ventilation hole 62d. The board and the heat generating component can be effectively cooled by the flows Fb, Fc, and Fd directly touching the board and the heat generating component, and by the flow Fa cooling overall the inside of the electrical component box 60.

  • Publication number: 20120192585
Abstract: An outdoor unit of an air conditioner for facilitating setting of an electrical component box into the outdoor unit. A blower chamber 10 side of a box base plate 62 is similar in shape to the a lower partition plate 50 provided with a receiving part 50a formed by bending inward an upper end of the lower partition plate 50. When joining an electrical component box 60 to the lower partition plate 50, the box base plate 62 is set onto the receiving part 50a along a flange 62a, whereby positioning the electrical component box 60, which is fixed to the lower partition plate 50 by fastening with a screw, welding, or other suitable method. The positioning can be achieved only by putting the box 60 on the receiving part 50a along the flange 62a. Facilitated positioning and fixing leads to simplicity and enhanced workability.
