  • Patent number: 7111934
Abstract: The feeding apparatus 50 includes a hopper 51 that is provided operable to support the papers in inclined attitude and pivot around a pivot axis 51a, and a feed roller 53 that is provided at a feed roller shaft 54 and feeds the paper to the downstream side by rotating in contact with the paper. When seen from the side view of the feeding path, guide rollers 57 and 58 are provided near the feed roller 53 and are driven to rotate in contact with paper. A movable member, provided near the feed roller 53, pivots around a pivot axis 63a so that the movable member moves backward and forward to the feeding path. Accordingly, a clearance between the feed roller 53 and the hopper 51 is narrowed.

  • Publication number: 20060091599
Abstract: A feeder is adapted to feed a medium to a down stream section in a first direction. A feeding tray has a supporting face adapted to support the medium thereon and formed with a groove. A first edge guide is provided on the supporting face so as to be slidable in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A second edge guide is provided on the supporting face so as to oppose to the first edge guide, so that the medium is placed therebetween. An auxiliary guide body is provided in the first edge guide and having a projection slidably engaged with the groove, the auxiliary guide body being slidable relative to the first edge guide in the first direction and a third direction opposite to the first direction, in accordance with the slide movement of the first edge guide in the second direction by way of the engagement between the projection and the groove.

  • Publication number: 20060072000
Abstract: A feeding tray supports a plurality of media the media thereon. A hopper is provided on the feeding tray so as to be movable in a first direction for pushing the media toward a feeding roller so that a top one of the media comes in contact with the feeding roller, and in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A separator separates a first group including at least one of the media which is situated under the top one of the media from the top one, so that only the top one is fed to the downstream section by rotation of the feeding roller. A returning lever is pivotable interlockingly with the feeding roller and adapted to return a second group including at least one of the media in the first group, which has been proceeded from a prescribed position to the downstream section together with the top one of the media, to the feeding tray. A holder supports a third group including at least one of the media in the first group which is situated under the second group.

  • Publication number: 20060071388
Abstract: In a recording material guiding device, a second guide member 606 is comprised of a hopper swinging surface 23c, an edge guide member 25 including a second side end guide member 25a, and a liftup preventing guide 251. The hopper swinging surface 23c is engaged in an opening provided in a side surface of a reference end guide 24 serving as a first guide member 603. The second guide member 606 can be slid in a main scanning direction with respect to the reference end guide 24 (first guide member 603). During recording a gap d1 can be formed between the second side end guide member 25a and a side end Pa of the recording paper P by sliding the second side end guide member 25a from a first position 604 to a second position 605, so that frictional contact can be prevented at the side end Pa of the recording paper P on the second side end guide member side.

  • Publication number: 20060050127
Abstract: A feeding roller is adapted to feed a recording medium to a recording section provided in a recording apparatus. A shaft portion of the feeding roller is made of synthetic resin and formed with a hollowed portion. A roller portion is formed on an outer periphery of the shaft portion. A hopper is adapted to support the recording medium to be fed to the recording apparatus. The body of the hopper is made of synthetic resin and formed with a hollowed portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the recording apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6505827
Abstract: Springs 34 and 35 are located on the back face of a paper cassette, between a movable plate 32 and a bar 31, coupled with a side edge aligner 27. A slot extending in the direction in which a spring load is generated is formed in the movable plate, and a hook portion is formed at the end of the spring in the direction in which the spring is extended or contracted. The length of the slot and the length of the spring end in the direction in which the spring load is generated differ for the individual springs, and correspond to the distance the movable plate is displaced. That is, a size difference is defined for each spring until the spring load is applied. During the insertion of the paper cassette, the movable plate is displaced by the mechanism constituted by the groove cam 41 and the boss 36a, and in accordance with the displacement, different spring loads are multiply applied the paper side edge aligning member via the bar.
